Discussion: Fox Host: Giuliani Attacks Mueller To Convince Public Trump Shouldn't Be Indicted

If I had Giuliani as my lawyer, I’d plead guilty to get away from him before he had me sentenced to life imprisonment for a parking ticket.

"his goal is…to influence public opinion so that if an indictment or impeachment of Trump were to come down, it would generally be unacceptable to the public.”

He’d be wrong about that.

“I wonder if Rudy could keep his mouth shut for one day?” Said no one this century.

Well, duh.

Giuliani was my lawyer once. I got a citation for J-walking. He got it plea’d down to murder-2.

“…he has candidly acknowledged to friends that his goal is not to dissuade the special counsel from pursuing his client but to influence public opinion so that if an indictment or impeachment of Trump were to come down, it would generally be unacceptable to the public.”

Rudy has picked an easy strategy for his client, seeing as the public didn't find Trump unacceptable for the Presidency in the first place.

Unless someone pulls several of my teeth, forces me to wear a denim shirt paired with denim jeans, and renders me unable to read I’ll avoid that fate.

Fox News analyst and columnist Andrew Napolitano wrote in a recent column that President Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani has told his friends that the real reason he bashes special counsel Robert Mueller is not to change the outcome of the investigation, but rather to convince the public that Trump shouldn’t be indicted or impeached if that’s what it comes down to.

The only people any yacking will convince are the usual 3M, Fox’s best ratings, fans.

The President of 9/11 has lost his groove thang.

If I was Giuliani I would start worrying about saving my own skin.

He was always a one trick pony.

Because so many people listen to a screeching lunatic.

If Darth Trump thinks his apprentice can pull the Jedi Mind Trick on anyone but his low intellect supporters, he’s in for a rude awakening.

The only people who were on Trump’s side were FOX News viewers, and since his approval rate has been plunging, he’s obviously lost at least some of those.

Rudy’s one job was to convince brainwashed viewers to stay that way, and he’s failing even at that.

I wonder if this behavior isn’t the essence of Giuliani’s consulting business: truckloads of BS followed by tank trucks filled with hot air. And to think that people actually pay for this kind of service.

When the indictments come down (hurry please!) they will be VERY acceptable to the public-at-large. The feral trumpers, OTOH, will just try to destroy the country even faster. Of course, it turns out the regime’s policies have only hurt them the most.

Funny, that.

Hey, what is wrong with denim on denim?

I disagree. The nation will soon be faced with making a collective decision whether to hold Trump accountable for his crimes. Failing to do so will signal our descent into authoritarianism, if not outright fascism.
Indictment of a President while in office has seemingly, by virtue of weird acquiescence to an OLC/DOJ memo, been ruled out. 67 votes to convict in a Senate impeachment trial are a virtual impossibility. Trump has no shame, never experiences regret, and has a mortal fear of an attack or diminishment of his ego, therefore he’ll never resign no matter how dire or tenuous his hold on the office.
So, he stays, regardless Mueller’s efforts. Regardless any proof of crimes. Regardless Trump’s powers and prestige being gelded.
We’ll have a known, proven criminal in the Oval Office, and a twisted nexus of sad and unfortunate circumstances will allow it. We, and all the world, will have to live with the knowledge we’re not up to maintaining a legitimately led democracy.
