Youāre right. This has become a right wing meme. Turbulent and changing times around the globe are entirely Obamaās fault. It has infested every comment section of every website.
'Cause, you know, prior to 2009, any country that wanted to go to war with or annex land from its neighbors would call the oval office to ask for permission. Any dictator who wanted to gas his own citizens would call the oval office to ask for permission. Any disease that was thinking of making an outbreak called the oval office to ask for permission. Any extreme weather event, be it a drought, tsunami, hurricane, earthquake or volcano would seek permission first. If an airliner wanted to go off radar and completely disappear, it would fly by the White House to get a thumbs up through the window. Yeah, Obama really sucks. I mean, the world is just falling apart around him.

Pandemic disease, and indeed public health generally, is an area where politics do not belong and honest, factual education of the public is paramount. Yet there are people on TV who think ebola is a joke. Amino acids, essential or non-essential, protein crystals, and even viruses have no sense of humor or sarcasm. Ignorance in this case can get people killed.
