Now these village idiots have no clue. Nor does Trump. But Trump has stumbled into the right answer in my opinion. We have no business mucking around in Syria because we don’t understand the region and the political/military nature of the problem.

I still think at core this is DT’s attempt to appease Turkey (who doesn’t want us palling around with the Kurds) in order to get them to lay off Saudi Arabia—and in the process he makes Vlad happy as well. It’s a completely corrupt decision informed by DT’s business relationship with the Saudis and has nothing to do with American interests of any kind from his POV… only DT interests.

The Middle East has been a giant cluster**** since the British and French partitioned it for their immediate benefit. That won’t change for generations, if ever, and anyone looking for military solutions is going to waste lives and resources for temporary solutions. Russia is no exception, they will eventually regret their involvement. The best thing that we could do is focus on developing alternative sources of energy so we could just walk away from the whole mess.

The “news” is that Fox is criticizing him, and harshly. And Kilmeade is one of his biggest (dumbest) cheerleaders. We’ll see how long this lasts, but for now, it’s a watershed.

As Josh has pointed out several times, this is one of the grave dangers of the Trump presidency—a foreign policy that is dictated solely by whatever Trump thinks is best for him, not for the U.S. He’s trying to spin this as “We’ve defeated ISIS and I’m bringing the boys home,” but essentially he’s throwing the Kurds to Turkey and ceding more influence to Russia—a double win for DT.

If Trump can just turn on a dime, and just act on some notion that pops into his head - with no deliberation/consultation with the experts … what else of monumental impact can he just instantly “brain fart” into happening?
Could he order an instant ‘strategic’ missile strike? … his impulsive ill advised actions could be reflexively obeyed … before any prudent minds could move to stop him.
You’re absolutely right, and I’ve said it a few time myself, esp. over the more incendiary guests who show up just to provide fodder for the base.
