Now these village idiots have no clue. Nor does Trump. But Trump has stumbled into the right answer in my opinion. We have no business mucking around in Syria because we don’t understand the region and the political/military nature of the problem.
Jaw, meet floor.
I still think at core this is DT’s attempt to appease Turkey (who doesn’t want us palling around with the Kurds) in order to get them to lay off Saudi Arabia—and in the process he makes Vlad happy as well. It’s a completely corrupt decision informed by DT’s business relationship with the Saudis and has nothing to do with American interests of any kind from his POV… only DT interests.
The Middle East has been a giant cluster**** since the British and French partitioned it for their immediate benefit. That won’t change for generations, if ever, and anyone looking for military solutions is going to waste lives and resources for temporary solutions. Russia is no exception, they will eventually regret their involvement. The best thing that we could do is focus on developing alternative sources of energy so we could just walk away from the whole mess.
The “news” is that Fox is criticizing him, and harshly. And Kilmeade is one of his biggest (dumbest) cheerleaders. We’ll see how long this lasts, but for now, it’s a watershed.
Agreed - would like to hear smarmy old Graham’s actual reference points for this unsubstantiated insult - precisely what impulsive uninformed ill considered monumental military action(s) did Obama just pull out of nowhere?
To wit:
As Josh has pointed out several times, this is one of the grave dangers of the Trump presidency—a foreign policy that is dictated solely by whatever Trump thinks is best for him, not for the U.S. He’s trying to spin this as “We’ve defeated ISIS and I’m bringing the boys home,” but essentially he’s throwing the Kurds to Turkey and ceding more influence to Russia—a double win for DT.
Well, if anyone can change Trump’s mind, it’s Fox and Friends. Let’s just chew on that for awhile.
Oh, shit!
Trump lived through another night…
Every morning it’s the second thing I check for.
Of course, it was Dubya who negotiated the pullout from Iraq, but let’s not let facts get in the way…
Never thought I’d long for the days when we just had a bumbling idiot in charge…
Syrian Kurds, our allies: left to die
Know-nothings are appalled that a Know-nothing knows nothing.
Again. Kurds should never trust Republicans.
This should be good for a couple hours of rage tweeting.
“Fox an Frends can’t TELL ME what to do! WHo do they think they are, Democtratics.?? Just for that. I’m pulling out of Germany, Japan, and Italy too.”
Yeah, I must confess to a brief moment of “possibility” each morning, hoping this is the day the headlines will either read that he’s blown a gasket or Mueller showed up at 1600 with handcuffs and a warrant.
Sadly, my bubble is burst every morning. But I’m an optimist: it will come one day.
/snort/
If Trump can just turn on a dime, and just act on some notion that pops into his head - with no deliberation/consultation with the experts … what else of monumental impact can he just instantly “brain fart” into happening?
Could he order an instant ‘strategic’ missile strike? … his impulsive ill advised actions could be reflexively obeyed … before any prudent minds could move to stop him.
You’re absolutely right, and I’ve said it a few time myself, esp. over the more incendiary guests who show up just to provide fodder for the base.
Senator Lindsey Graham, a self-described “media whore”, being whorish again.
