“Republicans do not know him,” the source said.
“He was governor only for a very short period of time. In fact, he really was more like a coffee boy than governor.”
And remember…if anyone else in Missouri did what this asshole did they’d not be asked to "step down. They’d already be in jail.
But if somebody in the WHITE HOUSE DID THAT, they’d go and ask furrowed-brow questions of MO voters regarding the “real America.”
When I read “The former NAVY Seal, Rhodes Scholar and bestselling author…”, I had to visit Amazon to see the titles of his books. It was worth it.
Resilience: Hard-Won Wisdom for Living a Better Life
The Heart and the Fist: The Education of a Humanitarian, The Making of a Navy SEAL
The Warrior’s Heart: Becoming a Man of Compassion and Courage
He was always tied up so we rarely had a chance to meet with him.
I’m sure glad I invested in that popcorn company.
Republican thought process:
Say, who’s the Lt. Governor again?
He’s Republican.
Oh, in that case, I call for Greitens’s resignation.
The Koch Brothers and President Trump personally took a lot of interest in furthering this man’s political career. Sounds like he had mastered the KGB methods for blackmail as well. Only the best and brightest, right?
Don’t forget his best seller, “Mixing Politics and Bondage for Dummies.”
Greetings from St Louis.
I asked a friend today if Greitens survives this. His response was "no, because he doesn’t have any friends’.
This had not occurred to me but my friend has a point.
In 2015, Greitens was a Democrat. He switched to Republican to run for governor. He funds his political operation through this dark money PAC that is widely assumed to be a Koch brothers operation. Since taking office, and when not in DC mugging with Donald Trump (he’s in DC A LOT), he’s gone to war with GOP leadership in both chambers the MO legislature, going so far to tweet the private cell phone number of the Speaker,… of his own party! Who does that?
Greitens has big plans to run for POTUS and resigning will end his career, so that is powerful incentive to remain. But to survive scandals like this you need a wealth of political supporters to rally to you. Greitens doesn’t have any, except his poor wife. God bless her.
From another commitment link on TPM, there was a article from a MO source about a video created by other Seals that was meant to be private, but became public. The Seals we’re not happy w him using his Seal status, in part, to launch his bid for Gov. While he did see combat action, there were too many Seals and he couldn’t get a cmd position, so he commanded a group of non-Seals. Seals feel any experiences belong to the group, and shouldn’t be used to self promote oneself. He accused his Gov opponent of releasing the video. The Seals do give him credit for creating an organization to support Seals and their families
Why, oh why, do Republicans always turn out to be such hypocrites?
There’s nothing inherently bad about moral failings–it’s human–but to be the party who preaches and preaches morals and family…
I pegged him as a slimeball from the moment he launched his campaign. You could tell he was nothing more than a shameless self-promoter. First impressions win again.
His second wife. The first one is a bit of a mystery.
So Republicans keep the office no matter what? Crud. Though I would think horrible self-serving slimeball is a positive boon in today’s GOP.
Time to spend more time with the family. Someone’s family, anyway.
Why should he have to resign?
Jesus forgives Republicans of all their sins…
…unlike that Godless Democrat Al Franken…
Snark mode now off…
“There’s some chickens coming home to roost here,” Columbia College political science professor Terry Smith told TPM, calling Greitens’ relationships with lawmakers “not great.”
Epic understatement

“He was Mr. Ethics and Mr. Transparency as a candidate and once he gets in office he sings a different tune and behaves differently,” Smith added. “So he’s being held to account for that.”
Imagine that, say, did you say he was formerly a Democrat, flipped parties and is now a Youugge supporter of the D’OhhTard? ![]()
Former Missouri GOP chairman Ed Martin also called for Greitens to step down on his talk radio show on AM 1380 Tuesday afternoon, saying “the people deserve better.”
this Ed Martin?
Must be a different Ed Martin.
The Ed Martin that i remember, blurted some b.s. about “Puerto Rican nationals” in '17, so it couldn’t have been him.
