YES! More please…keep it coming…he. must. be. destroyed.
NO QUARTER!
Yep, these nasty women are also known to stretch out their pregnancies to as close to 9 months as they can.
It’s just a vacation to them.
Everyone is trying to screw someone…it’s the American way. //snark
No - it’s thinking like that that will ensure he gets confirmed. If you make this about his qualifications - we lose. He’s qualified. Period. This isn’t about his qualifications, this is about the Republican’s stealing a seat from Obama and an illegitimately elected president getting to make a lifetime appointment in light of how this played out.
It’s shocking to find out that a rethug, born with a silver spoon up his ass, would think, "employee (especially of the female sort) bad: boss good.)
I still can’t accept the expectation that all senators owe Gorsuch a regular hearing after they denied this basic process and respect to Garland and President Obama. Once the Republicans have gotten away with sabotaging a rightful Supreme Court slot, they will do it again in the future. I don’t have a magic solution to the current situation, but my blood still boils.
“He once argued women use maternity leave to take advantage of their employers.”
If it’s a “legitimate maternity”, then employers have ways of shutting that whole thing down.
I’m confused. I believe that a sizable percentage of women, especially in higher paid professions, use pre- and post-pregnancy time off to the fullest, and then they do not return to work. That is their prerogative. I don’t see why pointing this out is a big deal?
I’d give birTh every fOur months iF it meant frEE paY for no WOrk.
Who said anything about qualifications? The “thinking” is this: ANYTHING that constitutes ammunition shall be used. ANYTHING. No holds barred. No mercy. No quarter. Destroy. Him.
It’s useful to note: We can’t stop the hearings from happening. That would require help, and we won’t have any unless we commence with his destruction…yesterday.
Women only get pregnant so they can laugh while their husbands go to the store in blinding snowstorms to fetch Geno’s Pizza Rolls at three in the morning from the only 24-hour store in town.
That’s my suspicion anyway.
Aside from the explicit misogyny, this is a just part and parcel of the GOP attitude toward workers in general. workers are commodities for employers to use. Male workers are better commodities than females because they don’t get pregnant. We can’t have universal healthcare because this would help disenthrall workers from the employers, the rentier class. What we see here is a jurist who is pro business and deeply anti worker. He will vote that way when he’s part of the SCOTUS. He may be harder on women, because, in his philosophy, they are less valuable commodities.
Anyone who works for a living and votes GOP needs to have their head examined.
you get the feeling that if there were a way to procreate without women guys like Gorsuch and Pence would pounce on it due to their apprehensions about yucky girls.
I hope nobody here mentions that paid maternity leave in the Happiest Country on Earth is 12 months. Or that the medical care is free. Or that yearly paid vacations last … oh, nevermind.
Well put. It’s why they think of retirement as the economic obsolescence of a labor unit, and perceive people surviving lengthy retirements as nothing more than a drain on their profits.
And some of them even claim a 42 week pregnancy. Jeeze! That’s 10 months! Slackers!!
It makes perfect sense. Since women have access to birth control, they can plan their pregnancies to time it to maximum effect.
Therefore we should block all birth control, so women can’t manipulate poor business owners!
Go Gorsuch!
Right now, like older ex Federal employees, I’m on the old CSRS, and I’m dead scared that Trump, Ryan and McConnell are going to come after our annuities when they begin to bankrupt the country.
By his reasoning he must think too many blue collar workers get injured on the job so they can lounge at home on disability.
