And it’s not really the GOP underbelly, more like a top coat, but they dye their roots, thinking we don’t see…
Sorry Steele…you are a little late in renouncing this orange abomination for President, by telling us who you won’t vote for.
I for one, am not the least bit impressed, particularly with a little less than 3 weeks to go. The man is ever the political operative at heart. His next big job is to save the House and Senate from blowing up and losing their majority…so, what he’s saying and doing now is just announcing a more practical position tactically.
No, he’s not one of the reasonable ones, or he would have come out with this announcement when Trump made his racist, xenophobic and anti-Muslim attacks over a year ago, and said he would never vote for a bigot like that from the beginning.
Its not the underbelly of the GOP anymore. That’s its topcoat, worn for all to see…proud of the way its groomed itself over the years to attract those of similar ilk. It was there even through your tenure as RNC head, Mr. Steele. You just haven’t been influential enough to do a fucking thing about it, perhaps because they don’t respect you either as an African-American. But that’s how your party wants it and has been moving in that direction for years. You built that.
It funny that we thought of the same type metaphor, comparison or imagery about the same time. Wow. I like that…
(Personally, I had my dog in mind when I wrote that.)
“C’mon maan”…
He was supposed to be their “cool guy” to counter the authentically cool guy in the White House. Can’t figure out why that never worked for the GOP, can you? Was it something he said, or just the amount of melanin in his skin that the GOP couldn’t find their way to actually embracing?
Nahhh…
Let’s face it, Rinse Pubis was always more their style.
Steele said that Trump does not represent the whole Republican party and that he was “damn near puking
during the debates.”
“Ummm…he just represents the big part I don’t like to talk about.”
Wallace actually expressed a modicum of remorse and regret in his later years for his earlier racism. He was also paralyzed and wheelchair bound due to an assassination attempt at the end, drawing a bit of sympathy from some. If he had died in 1971 instead of 1998 his legacy would have been much worse. Similarly the animus towards Nixon diminished in his later years.
If I had to choose a dead American historical figure from the last 60 years that remains detested Joe McCarthy would have to be up there.
This guy is a complete phony— whoever he votes for.
Not a bad choice…
Lets see how long Ted Cruz sticks around, he is definitely in the running…
Trump unfavorable is about 62
Clinton’s is about 53

Historically, that’s unprecedented
Most of Hilary’s “unfavorables” come from conservatives—she has high approval ratings among liberals.
And she’s America’s most admired woman 20 times.
Trump’s “unfavorables” come from across the political spectrum.
