I know this is awfully conspiratorial, but these stories are all over Drudge. Way up top where he usually puts the Clinton, climate denial, and various Hollywood headlines.
Here’s my theory: maybe the powers behind Drudge know what’s coming via Mueller. Tossing Trump over sexual dalliances, rather than treason, may save the rest of the GOP from the fallout (or the RICO charges if dreams do come true).
