We need song writers start writing protest songs against this administration.
“If they don’t reunite these kids with their parents right away, what can happen is the kids will be stuck here in the United States for years. Guardians will be appointed. And the parent will be down in Honduras or Guatemala with no idea where their child is and no meaningful way to reunite.”
I have nothing to add.
No snark.
Feature, not a bug.
So, what?, we keep the kids in custody until their 18th birthdays and then deport them? Alternatively, maybe if we decide we can’t find their parents we can just stick them on a plane and dump them off at the Guatemala City airport. Many of them can walk and talk, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Right? I think it’s time to start flying our flag upside down. This coming July 4 will be a day of deep shame.

Your imagination is as good as mine as to the ending of my dream… There are many alternate endings.

How else is Ivanka going to bring her shoe manufacturing scam back from China so she can charge twice as much for Made in America crap?
There is no protocol and no plan for reuniting these families. And for every suffering child, there are suffering parents. Losing a child is the worst possible pain any parent can imagine.
This is a depraved and twisted and sick administration, across the board, and they are – gleefully – taking the rest of us down with them.
Caro mio - thousands of families were re-united after the war.
This can be done again. It just takes good people willing to do a difficult frustrating but rewarding job.
We won’t let this happen.
