Discussion: Former EPA Staffer Says Pruitt Lied To Congress About Retaliating Against Him

Not an issue. The GOP Congress expects and wants to be lied to.

In most cases, they insist on it.

Is there any doubt about this? Let’s face it If given a free choice, Pruitt would rather lie than tell the truth.

Of course it is, he’s a good Christian bible quotes and all so we should be shocked right? Just kidding, Christians are some of the least trust worthy people on the planet.

Curiously, some of the most Christian people I know are atheists.

The fake Christians like Pruitt are simply bible thumping fools.

Chmielewski told ABC News he recalled EPA chief of staff Ryan Jackson telling him: “Hey — Administrator Pruitt either wants me to fire you or put you in an office so that he doesn’t have to see you again.”

The incident involves the highly paid “aide”/lawyer who reportedly didn’t show up at work for 3 months, and the high cost Morocco trip (where they all missed the flight in Paris, and extended the trip a day - with all the extra trips being charged to we the people/tax payers.)

Yes, her name periodically comes up in this story. Why was Dravis paid so much when she didn’t come into work for 3 months? Why was Dravis (who didn’t come into work for three months) on this trip? And why was the rejection of paying for her ticket home in first class as excessively expensive (for someone who didn’t come to work for 3 months), the seeming impetus for firing this former aide who came to the job because (it appears) he was a loyal Trump campaigner?

Affair? Connected to lobbyists/Pruitt funder?

We can speculate endlessly - which is fun, but probably pointless save for pointing out:

how her employment, her pay and lack of work presence (unless some serious work product can be provided that seems to be 3 months worth of work at home effort can be provided), and the taxpayers footing the bill for her on this trip? And it is possible that there was serious work product, not done in the office, was done - but it is doubtful it was in the public interest; in this scenario it would likely be related to industry friendly recommendations for deregulation.

Then again, in another Trump Admin scandal, I think I recall that she was a former girlfriend of Rob Porter former top aide to Kelly/Trump staffer, who had made at least 1 call to Kelly per concerns about abusive behavior of Porter to her as a girlfriend (which fit the pattern of behavior reported to the FBI from his two ex wives).

There seems to be a huge story here, around Dravis. Even if we can’t yet see the contours and how it intersects with Pruitt’s scandals and the EPA.

ETA: @littlegirlblue the first time Dravis appeared in this story - crossed referenced with the Porter story your comments flagged my attention to that there is likely a story/serious issue/ centering on this intersection - which is Dravis. Further threads of Pruitt corruption leaks keep underscoring to me that this is likely the case.

Wasn’t this the trip to promote a gas company whose international business doesn’t even fall under the EPA’s ambit?

When Pruitt testified before the Senate the other day he showed he’s as slippery as an eel, never got rattled, and by the end a R senator apologized to him for the rude behavior demonstrated by the Dems on the panel when they pounced on the $43,000. telephone booth. The Rs love, love, love Pruitt’s agenda and all the destruction he’s quietly promising he’ll do. I bet he stays at EPA regardless of anything that comes out.

Yes.

So many contours of the story to suggest one or another scandal - and that is a big one.

I trust/hope that various journalists recognize that this is something to dig into/investigate.

There is leaking that appears to be coming both from the EPA and the WH.

While I agree that some/many GOPers are currently ready to be obsequious, I sense that there are pressure valves being closed at both the EPA and the WH (not Trump - but several staffers) in an effort to amp the pressure so high that when the story(ies) eventually blow that there is no recovery for Pruitt.

I give him 3+ months at max. Too many metaphorical knives out. What we don’t yet know is why there are so many folks with metaphoric knives out for him.

Just so the scandal’s still being covered this eagerly as people turn their thoughts to November elections. Then we can talk about oppo ads writing themselves

Leaks come from unhappy employees, which explains why there are so many leaks in this Administration.

I am certain he will. This display by the Republicans in Congress only confirms it. If the Democrats retake the House, though, all bets are off.
