I think TPM shouldn’t be content with just linking to AP stories, without doing any other work, when AP stories are typically incomplete. My first question: That’s his whole punishment? He doesn’t have to register as a sex offender too? I had to go to the Huffington Post–yes, the Huffington Post, which got its initial information from the Washington Post, but then apparently actually had the same question I did and researched the answer (wow, journalism!)–to find out that indeed he has to register as a sex offender for the next 10 years.

That’s almost irrelevant. Why the fuck is he not going to jail for 10 years? Never mind the fact that any other sex offender would have to register forever.

If you have to explain a term, you probably shouldn’t use it.
I don’t give a damn what his political affiliation is. He raped two women and isn’t going to jail. That’s wrong, and yet so emblematic of how women’s lives are valued so much less than the men who assault them.
