The Guv is now seen for the Pander Bear he is.The lady put her money where her mouth is and The Guv gave her his ass to kiss.

“Whitman, who was a co-chair of Christie’s national finance team,
contributed $2,700 to his presidential campaign and another $200,000 to
his aligned super political action committee, America Leads, according
to the Center for Responsive Politics, a Washington-based research
group.”

in exchange for DoughBoy’s endorsement Donnie Dimwit promised a full pardon to the DoughBoy for his participation in Bridgegate and any other sins of commission or omission that occurred during the DoughBoy’s tenure as governor of New Jersey…

but no quid pro quo…

Yeah…thanks for that Captain Obvious. We never would have pieced it together otherwise.

But this does go to just how difficult Trump’s road going forward with his own party is going to be. Whiman isn’t just some volunteer on Christie’s campaign. This is one of the people who controls the purse strings and the fund raising.

The first and last sentences are crap:

Chris Christie’s endorsement of Donald Trump is an astonishing display of political opportunism. … For some of us, principle and country still matter.

Inasmuch as Christie´s opportunism has been undeniable for years, and Whitman´s having much in the way of principles is highly suspect.

But this:

Donald Trump is unfit to be President. He is a dishonest demagogue who plays to our worst fears. Trump would take America on a dangerous journey. Christie knows all that and indicated as much many times publicly. The Governor is mistaken if he believes he can now count on my support, and I call on Christie’s donors and supporters to reject the Governor and Donald Trump outright.

Is pretty good.

Christie’s whole career is an “astonishing display of political opportunism.”

Christie has to be convicted of Federal Crimes in order to be eligible for a Presidential pardon!

“The pardon power of the President extends only to offenses recognizable under federal law.”
“In the United States, the pardon power for federal crimes is granted to the President of the United States under Article II, Section 2 of the United States Constitution which states that the President “shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment”. The U.S. Supreme Court has interpreted this language to include the power to grant pardons, conditional pardons, commutations of sentence, conditional commutations of sentence, remissions of fines and forfeitures, respites, and amnesties.”

Yeah, I think it far more likely he was promised the AG position.
For Christie this is a ‘hail mary’. He is done in NJ, knows it, and is going for a long shot.

Doesn’t say much for Whitman’s judgement. I’ll be sure to give any endorsement she might make the respect it deserves.

Meg Whitman, who was the national finance co-chair for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R)'s failed presidential bid, called his endorsement of Donald Trump for the presidency an act of "political opportunism" in a statement released Sunday, NBC reported.

Dang, no chance of a Christie-Whitman ticket.

If there ever was a chance that trump could win in NJ, Christie’s endorsement is the kiss of death for that. NJ voters now know exactly who and what Christie is.

Simply-Food-For-Thought:

Trump Is NOT Self-Funding His Campaign

  • As a twice-elected governor of a blue state and former chairman of the Republican Governors Association, Christie could serve as Trump’s ambassador to establishment donors, lawmakers and behind-the-scenes operators across the nation.

  • Christie, throwing his support behind Trump could be seen as payback against Rubio after a bitter primary fight. As Christie climbed in New Hampshire, the state where he put all his chips, the pro-Rubio super PAC Conservative Solutions spent large amounts of money on TV ads in the Granite State attacking the governor.

Really? But Nixon got a pardon without being convicted of anything.

Christie’s going to need another job soon. He’s sees Trumo as his best option of procuring another government job.
