She never had a chance.
The scandal was named after her.
At what point did she realize the CC’s bus was for her and Bill
Kelly was a single mother working a full time job so I’d like to be able to summon up some sympathy for her. However, when you’re willing to carry water for a fascist brute like Christie you pretty much deserve whatever you get.
Yep, but it really bothers me that she and Baroni are going to jail while the person who most benefited from it, who undoubtedly ordered it, gets to take a pass. He’ll probably get some sweet job as a lobbyist and his kids will get to live high on the hog, but his coconspirators will go to prison and their families will suffer. That’s just wrong. All three of their asses should be in stripes.
What in the hell does Christie have on these two that they don’t turn state’s evidence on him? Bridgegate or not - they must know where some pretty scary skeletons are buried. Can’t believe they’re taking the fall for that fat bastard.
18 months in prison and for what? Petty political viciousness. GOP is one sorry @$$ party. Prosecutors shouldn’t stop till they get Christie himself. Christie is either incompetent or complicit.
Ah, Bridgegate. A simpler, more ethical time …
Perhaps there’s a financial reward at the end.
I actually know of such a case:
A book keeper (CFO) of a time-share ponzi scheme; went to prison while the boss walked.
Was handsomely rewarded a the end.
No kidding. My mother’s neighbor.
Is it wrong that I’m smiling?
She is a nasty piece of work and deserves jail. Forget the ambulance that was allegedly caught up in the traffic or the environmental damage from thousands of idling cars–she and her boss caused hundreds of thousands of hard working people who just wanted to get home to instead sit in their cars for hours. Parents missed putting their toddlers to bed or their teens’ recitals or games. Homemade dinners got cold. Married couples fought because they were exhausted. And for what? This beyotch and the corpulent pussbucket boss in Trenton punished regular people to somehow exact revenge on a political rival? It defies comprehension.
It’s not the end of the world for Bridget.
That 18 months less good behavior will give her ample time to reflect on what motivated her behavior and how she can correct it. So she might just come out a better person.
Or of course there is the alternative achievement of making her bones with the outlaw community she came from. That could lead to new and better career opportunities.
And maybe just maybe, Christie can give all the voters in NJ the finger and get the Russian oligarch Presid*nt to issue a pardon.
Good luck in your new adventure.
yep, i know of a case too … the head honcho who didn’t get even prosecuted, took care of the family the entire prison time - paid every bill - and cash for when he came out … i can’t imagine baroni and kelly taking the rap without being rewarded …
I’ve got a bridge in Jersey for sale to anyone who thinks Chris Christie didn’t know!
Chickens gotta roost somewhere. (Is it wrong that I’m smiling?)
