Applause to the Former CBO Directors.

It is foolish for Congress members to deride/discredit this work. It would be folly to pass legislation (as was the case prior to its creation) without trying to understand the positive and negative impacts of that legislation, in order to vet and improve said legislation prior to voting on it.

Keep sullying the CBO, and you keep proving again and again, that it has long since you were acting on behalf of the good of the American people.

I can only imagine the exhaustion of the CBO staff at this point. This is not the only thing they have had to score, and to have to do this 4 times in a small amount of time is heroic. Thanks CBOers!!

And just watch this get reported as a partisan, political letter rather than a simple matter of correcting the facts.

This is as good a definition of the term “public service” as you’ll ever find!

Thank you all, former CBO directors!

Facts? Who needs facts?

Look, if the Republicans sincerely believe that their wealth transfer plan will be better for American healthcare, regardless of facts, then who am I to question such noble people? My future heart disease will be nothing compared to the honor of their personal fortitude.

This is typical of most conservatives. If they dont like the message they attack the messenger. They do this with media all the time. If the media writes an article that dont have the GOP in a good light, they attack the media as being biased liberal media.

Republicans hate the truth. Their world turns on folktales, myth and outright lies.

I have to disagree slightly. Attacking the messenger is a trait shared by all humans, including liberals. We need to always be on guard for it, because we are equally susceptible to it (as exhibits, I will point to many aspects of the Sanders primary campaign, as well as how a lot of Clinton supporters ignored 538’s analysis leading up to the elections, especially towards the end).

The differences between liberals and conservatives are:

  1. Republicans have put ideology before reality. As a result, increasingly their positions are absolutely divorced from reality, so objective analyses like those from the CBO are increasingly unhelpful to Republicans.
  2. Republicans have attacked education and the educated for decades, to the point being an expert is now considered a bad thing in American conservative circles.
  3. When liberals find that they are wrong, the vast majority try to course correct. For Republicans, the vast majority only digs in deeper. As a result they keep getting even more wrong as time goes on.

And we’re supposed to believe that this group of former CBO directors know more than the current Republicans in Congress. If they’re so smart, why are they former directors? Hmmm? Couldn’t keep a job?

And then the GOP went crying to mommy because the kid they bullied gave them a bloody nose

I think the next move by congress will be to disband the CBO.
