Perhaps if Bernie was actually a Democrat he would have more influence in a Democratic Primary.
āDāAlessandro told TPM on Monday that he wouldnāt have been competitive at allā¦without Sandersā support. But it doesnāt appear that it ended up doing much for him in the end.ā
āItās a āMr. Deathā, dear. He says heās here about the āreapingāā¦?ā
Was he competitive?
Iāve seen longer coattails on a cutoff t-shirt.
Can we stop with the constant Bernie smearing on here? This is not even a story and will just stoke the primary war fire some more.
Iām so confident this thread wonāt devolve into pointless re-litigation of the 2016 primary and counterproductive infighting and insult-trading that Iām just gonna sign off now and head off to bed! Have a great night, folks!
(Of course just in case, by some unlucky happenstance, this thread does end up going the same way as every other Bernie-related thread on TPM since 2016, my strategy works just as well. ).
It wasnāt a caucus.
I got my Uni-fart and a little bottle of dinky-dust in the mail ā¦
but I didnāt know I was supposed to KEEP doing this election shit ā¦
this is hard ā¦
who cares, think good thoughts about CA-48ā¦ We need all the good feeling we can get in a race where too many āprogressivesā went off on their hobby horsesā¦
No, itās a story. Sanders simply doesnāt have the juice he or his fervent cult thinks he does.
āDāAlessandro told TPM on Monday that he wouldnāt have been competitive at all against Axne, who had most of the establishment support, andā apparently the support of most of the voters.
Cue the faux-āprogressiveā whiners: āTHE ESTABLISHMENT STOLE THE PRIMARY!!! BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!ā
Iāve had enough smearing from BernieBots to last me a life time, so no, Iāll say what I think about this narcissistic non-Democrat dictating to the Democratic Party what it should do.
He would have lost the last election big time, despite all the Monday Morning Quarterbacking we still have to listen to from his die-hard devotees.
Fuck TPM. Iām out.
I agree. The weak stories smearing Bernie Sanders or Our Revolution donāt warrant the front paging and negative editorialized pictures that went with them. This kind of stuff is beneath TPM.
DāAlessandro got smeared in the election, but the TPM story is straight-up reporting. You donāt like the photo? Thatās reasonable. It isnāt flattering, but neither was the result of the vote.
I believe that Bernieās pull among Dem voters is a pretty important story and very much worthy of coverage by TPM. There is still tremendous overlap between the priorities and long-term goals of Sanders and the bulk of the Democratic party, but results like this Iowa race (and the 2016 primary) suggest that Democratic voters arenāt looking to him to take the lead on the partyās fight against what Trumpp is doing to our country.
Truth Hurts. Thankās for helping Trump become POTUS!!!
If Axne had done poorly and DāEllasandro won you wouldnāt want that reported because this is a meaningless race? Of course you would want that reported. Donāt mistake what you see as negative information as negative intent, this is nothing but reporting on events that have transpired not editorializing. If Axne had lost reporting that would not have been a dig against Axne any more than this is a dig against DāEllasandro. This is literally what competent, impartial journalism looks like.
Um, no.
