Discussion: Foreign Newspapers Ring Alarm Bells At Prospect Of A Trump Presidency

Discussion for article #246845

As well they should.

Well they can calm down. Trump is the likely GOP nominee…but if not…it’s Cruz. 6 of one half dozen of the other. But in the end neither becomes President.

Thuraya Ebrahim al Arrayed, a member of Saudi Arabia’s top advisory body, the Shura Council, said a Trump presidency would be “catastrophic” and set the world back “not just generations, but centuries.”

Wow! When a medieval country like Saudi Arabia is talking about setting the world back centuries …

Trump ist cloggiong die Toilette und eine Verlegenheit für Amerika

Writing in the Financial Times of London, Martin Wolf summed up the mood of a good share of Europes business and economic elite…

“Mr. Trump is a promoter of paranoid fantasies, a xenophobe and an ignoramus. His business consists of the erection of ugly monuments to his own vanity. He has no experience of political office. Some compare him to Latin American populists. He might also be considered an American Silvio Berlusconi, albeit without the charm or business acumen,” Wolf wrote.

This is how it’s done, Mitt.

These journalists don’t seem to understand that Trump is today’s typical republican. After 7 continuous years of demonization of Obama by the GOP, of living in a fantasy world, where up is down, and of being willing to leave their ethics in the closet, Trump is the natural GOP candidate. Cruz is just a variation of Trump, with different ethical problems. Consider it as something similar to corpses being natural consequences of death. In this case it is the death of the GOP as a serious political party.

“We pray to God that a racist, politically incorrect personality does not win the election,” she said. “How can he tell Muslim students going there to study he will shut the door in Muslim faces?”

So much to react to in this article, but I just wanted to respond to these statements from Saudi Arabia.

The country that basically shuts its doors to Jews and Christians is all of a sudden concerned about religious discrimination? The country that backs the dangerous cult of Wahibism is going to lecture us? Give me a break!

Having said that, make no mistake, I’m in total oppostion to Trump’s positions on immigration.

This helps Trump immeasurably. I want him to win the GOP nomination because I genuinely believe that he can’t be worse than the others. The others are beholden to nascent fascist movements in this country. As far as I can see Trump panders to voters … nutters to be sure … but he doesn’t seem to be beholden to anyone else. If all Republican’s in the Congress were Trump Republicans things would get done. He needs deals like a junkie needs a fix … the bigotry? At least he is open about it which is more than I can say about the collective GOP Trash-capades that has been the 2016 primaries.

How quaint to see the Saudis having such concern for their own kind. They are desperate to tie a healthy skepticism towards Muslims as ‘racism’. I would take in every Christian from Every Muslim country … there isn’t a nickles difference in terms of skin shade or eye shape. I WANT them to hand out visas in Christian Africa. That’s ‘racism’ for you.
