I rode around in my 2003 focus wearing Nike’s this weekend.
You don’t need a special font during Snark Week.
The Mustang will remain as the only sedan sold in the US. I wonder if part of America’s love of SUVs is really just a way to navigate our terrible roads. If we had reliably decent roads, sedans might make more sense.
When he’s breathing.
That movie has been going for far too long. It’s worse than Heaven’s Gate
Trump is an idiot. I know - that goes without saying - but the depth and breadth of things he does not know are staggering. He has led an insular life.
He doesn’t realize that some of the big carmakers make models for the European/foreign markets that would not sell in North America. I remember being in England 20 years ago and seeing little Fords that I had never seen at home. Part of the reason for that is that the old cities in Europe will not easily accommodate the behemoth vehicles we tend to drive here. The streets can be very narrow with very tight cornering. We have the space for them.
It wouldn’t make sense to build them here and ship them there. Of course they are going to build cars near their markets. It shows what a lousy businessman he is that he doesn’t realize something so basic.
WHEN will FORD stop lying about WHERE they are PRODUCING FORds? GLOBAL conspiracy to make trump seem CRAZY!
Patience Grasshopper, next week is Infrastructure Week.
Infrastructure week is always next week.
Sedans make lots of sense. They’re sold by every “non-US” manufacturer, often made in US factories. They just don’t have the maximized profit margins that US investors insist on.
I re-read Trump’s tweet. While not an outright lie, it is a very clever half-truth. Ford could make it here and avoid tariffs, but it won’t because the costs are too high and the demand too little. Trump either knows that and doesn’t care (or more likely will just say that it is not his fault that Ford doesn’t build small cars here.) Of course, there is a non-zero chance that he thinks Ford should be making cars here and won’t just to spite Trump because the world revolves around him. Bottom line is one less car buying option for American consumers, one less opportunity for Ford and Ford dealers to make a little money on a small car that is imported to the US rather than no money on a small car that is not built in the US.
Ford, how can you say this about our Dear Leader? Don’t you know he’s always right by definition?
Conservatism can never fail, it can only be failed - and Trump IS Conservatism.
