Discussion: Florida Republican Holdout Inches Toward Yes On Obamacare Repeal

Curbelo does not sound like a “moderate” I think a “Republican moderate” is a fiction. Moreover, it does not appear that he has done a thorough job of due diligence when he was asked about annual and lifetime limits. If this mook votes for the Trump/Ryan Bill, his constituents should make sure he is not re-elected in 2018

The Great Trump Bamboozle proceeds apace.

I just hope the Dems as a party are prepared for the inevitable: they’ll be blamed by Trump and the Republicans when the impact of the legislation that will be signed by Trump produces its guaranteed calamitous effects.

The whining from Red States for federal help with all the problems this has caused for them will be deafening.

GOP will own Trumpcareless. I hear the sound of a good schalacking for the GOP 2018. Frump, release your taxes. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/immediately-release-donald-trumps-full-tax-returns-all-information-needed-verify-emoluments-clause-compliance

Though Curbelo is becoming a strong politician, Clinton crushed Trump in that district and he barely won the first election.

According to the Lugar Center, Curbelo is number 11 on their bi-partisan list. Now soon to be ex Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen is number six, but that list will likely be changing soon.

These people are lying shitbags (following in the footsteps of our President).

The amendment fixes the pre-existing condition gap. Really? Prove it by allowing the CBO and major health institutions the time to review this bill, a bill that has the potential to monumentally devastate tens of millions of Americans.

kind of cures

Death’s certainty? Free of charge…

Curbelo’s district is one of three in South Florida that have more people covered under ACA exchanges than any other in the nation. Since it is Florida, there are also a lot of old people who will be looking at huge increases in what they pay for insurance. He is fucking toast, but really, it’s just a question of whether he is burnt to a crisp or merely singed.

This is hilarious when it was Senator Rubio who got passed a bill to take away money from risk corridors under President Obama. Somebody from TPM should have told Curbelo. LOL.

Yep crispy toast.

Typical Repuglican Wuss!

“No matter where someone ends up in the health care states, even if they are in one of these opt-out states and they haven’t kept continuous coverage, there’s going to be support for him. That’s what the Upton amendment kind of cures. That was important for me,” he said.

So is he ignorant of the facts, or lying, or a bit of both?

A new report estimates that the House GOP’s Obamacare replacement would help cover 110,000 of the 2.2 million people with pre-existing conditions in the individual marketplace. That analysis accounts for the $8 billion in additional funding that the Upton amendment provides that helped win over so many moderates.
