If a cop asks you to stop, turn around hands on head, whatever … you do it. I don’t give a f*** who you THINK you are. Every single one of us lives under the rule of law, and we depend on them to enforce it. They’re not all bad cops. And you still HAVE … (got that?) HAVE to do what they say.

I guess the response to that would be, “If you don’t want Ebola, Rabies or Hepatitis C, don’t resist when we tell you to put your hands up.”
We should always treat encounters with the police as though they may be lethal, alas.
I hope she sues them for everything they have and everyone of those officers needs to be fired.

Video is making it more difficult now for them to claim cause for abusing or using excessive force. Thank goodness but we still have a long way to go to change this culture of beat someone senselessly first before considering other options.
They demand you respect them and their authority but they need to show respect to get it. And I don’t want to hear a bunch of bullshit examples of why they shouldn’t. I know there are assholes out there that deserve what ever happens but the majority don’t and the police have been getting away with this for decades until we stand up and stop it and it goes away for awhile but then comes back. Enough.

Cowards with badges and guns are very dangerous.
Americans worship the police and will cut them any amount of slack. The police know this, and act accordingly.The authoritarianism and brutality will not end until Americans change fundamentally. We’re at least a generation away from improvement.
I heard she was heavily into the gangsta rap subculture.
Also was noted in the neighborhood for dealing in ‘sizzurp’.
You the taxpayer will pay her when she wins the lawsuit. The video is damning - a 62-year old woman walking slowly away is dropped to the ground, shot/tasered by a cop, and lies there for several minutes. Nothing to break her fall, and none of the cops who come up to poke her seem very concerned. No wonder the audio records a guy saying “and they wonder why they’re hated.” I am beginning to think pretty poorly of cops; they treat each other a lot better than they treat the rest of us. Black or white.

Have you watched the video? Because I was just wondering if you were making an ass of yourself out of sheer, willful ignorance or whether it was active hateful malice. Not that those two things are mutually exclusive in Foxworld, of course.
