Helps. Helps them gain influence in Iran, helps them by creating strain within NATO allies, helps them by creating tension that raises oil prices, helps them by further discrediting the United States and making us an object of ridicule and scorn and viewed as a country that cannot be relied upon to keep to a treaty because we have stupid, crazy voters who will vote for someone to blow shit up for the sake of blowing shit up. Helps them in their ongoing campaign to undermine and discredit democracy generally.
But the important thing here is that the black man who very, very unfairly made fun of him at that dinner is getting his comeuppance by having his legacy erased and, above all, that we were all spared the horror of that horrible warmongering woman who was obviously totally beholden to Wall Street because she took money for speeches.

My daughter, who’s in law school, has decided to go into labor law, worker’s rights, etc. A fool’s errand? Perhaps. Importantly, however, she doesn’t feel that way. I am heartened that she and many of her classmates are excited right now; they feel this is their “60s” and they are ready to work hard for it, inspired by the teacher strikes. If this evil moron and the rest of his immoral party can create a serious, motivated backlash of young committed voters, it all might be worth it.
