Discussion: Flake: We Should've Done More To Shut Down 'Birtherism' Conspiracies

Ever since Trump got into birtherism people have no trusted him.

Bit late, Flake. Constructive criticism is a dish best served contemporaneously.

Does he mean he wishes they’d done more the other month when he and they confirmed birther loon John Bush to the Sixth Circuit?

And anybody at that rally, anybody at those rallies ought to stand up and say ‘That’s inappropriate, we shouldn’t be doing that,’” he said.

People did. Donald Trump invited other members of the crowd to assault them. Where was Flake?

Flake is such a cynical hack, no better than his GOP colleagues. Here he is brazenly lying to his constituents about healthcare.

Republicans are afraid of their base. They’ve spent the last twenty years turning them into an angry mob against government and no longer control them. But I do think Flake’s protestations now indicate that some in the party see the obvious and are trying to backpedal. Good luck with that.

Sadly some are scrambling to get reelected despite being a reliable stamp of approval on all the madness of the party. I call them Flakes … absolutely no pun intended.

Flake is committing full time to this “lets return to the proud, SANE version of the GOP”. Which I still think is being driven by something he and his folks are seeing in internal polling there in Arizona. Perhaps something like there is a very large coalition of independents and “pocketbook” republicans to be unified?

The part that is puzzling me, is I didn’t see Arizona as the most likely place for someone to do this.

What is up with Fluke lately? Is his seat in danger next election?

Something along the line of “barn door” and “horse” at this point…

There were never any birthers. There were only people who loudly declared they weren’t birthers, they were just raising the question, see, because of all the doubts and rumors being circulated. By themselves, mostly. But still.

Look at yourself, Flake. Look at your party. You’re positioning yourself as a near-noble courageous truth-teller because you’re saying maybe just maybe we shouldn’t have spread idiotic racist lies all that much. What’s next? A denunciation of witch-doctor images? I mean, don’t get too far out ahead of the pack, now.

The Republican Party is a de facto religious party, effectively dominated at the local, state and national level by people who believe that the ridiculous codswallop served up by the Creation Museum is real science. Good luck getting anything resembling sanity out of these goggle-eyed Bible-thumping loons.

‘he promotes his book’ - Well, there you have it in the last sentence. This is why Flake is making these statements. He is no better than any of the others. It’s all about selling shit and getting reelected. Nothing more…

Flakey Jeff acts like every other RepubliKKKlan–He looks out for #1 and doesn’t care about anything else.

Up next, Flake gives his timely insights on how we should move the fleet out of Pearl Harbor given the pending dispute with Japan over coaling stations in the Pacific. He’s a statesman and a visionary!

He’s getting an early start on damage control.

Oh, fuck you, you goddamned hypocrite. You voted to confirm that birther* fucknut John Bush to the federal judiciary, you worthless Ford Pinto salesman. You’ve been rimming Trump since before he was elected, and supported the dickhead’s agenda over 95% of the time.
How bad are things in Arizona that he has to start spouting this idiotic and bogus crap? Does someone have pictures of Jeff and some 17-year-old Mormon rentboy?

*Oh, and as long as you are suddenly calling out birthers in your party, try pointing out that Donald’s silicone wife Melania was as big a birther as he was.

Maybe he feels it is safe to make milquetoast declarations of what was obvious to every reasonable adult in the USA, now that Joe Arpaio is convicted etc. Flake and Sasse have been setting themselves up as presidential candidates, hence the much belated and still very milquetoast Monday morning quarterbacking.
