Saying Trump is reminiscent of the McCarthy Era is an insult to McCarthy. Trump is much worse.
Well, sure. You don’t spend a decade suckling at Roy Cohn’s tits, as did Our President, w/o picking up a permanent dose of Joe McCarthy. The real shame is how easily it has spread to the dominant wing of one of our 2 major political parties.

As correct as his words may be, as astute as his comments are, Flake is still a Republican who needed McCain’s shocking last minute vote against the repeal of ACA to save his soul. You are complicit Jeff. Some of the responsibility for the inertia of this clown car rests at your feet.
Now I guess we get to watch the Democrats try to make the Republicans heroes in all this.

Even if Trump AND Pence get thrown out, Gorsuch and not Garland will still be sitting on the Supreme Court.
I’m glad he’s saying this, but he’ll have my respect when he owns up to his responsibility in bringing this about.

Can’t even do that. The only reason Flake is quitting is because he knows he will lose to a primary challenger. Like his Republican colleagues, he wouldn’t be saying this stuff if his thought his seat was safe.

Trump is a lot more like Duterte than McCarthy.
Corker says he is trying to save the Republican Party from itself so he is still a team player. He just wants to get rid of the nutso factor and get on with the conservative agenda of the stairway to hell, as opposed to the express elevator. I don’t see how after years of Chairman Mao party purification there would be any one left. My opinions aside, the Repubs’ patrons still own the media. That is the real trump card.
