Discussion: Flake To GOP: 'We Ought To Move Beyond' Benghazi

Discussion for article #230488

“Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) on Sunday said that he thinks the GOP needs to move on from the Benghazi scandal.”

No shit Sherlock…Ya think?..Geeze.

How about moving on and asking Boehner to do his damned job and get his chamber working. Wouldn’t that be creative?

They just can’t let it go. Flake is no better although he’s trying to appear to be.

Susan Rice didn’t throw anything in the face of what “they knew” was going on because ‘they’ didn’t know then and despite numerous full reports, they refuse to know now what went on.
Moving on isn’t the fix, accepting reality, admitting their over zealous mistakes and apologizing is the first big step. Repaying our wasted tax dollars would seal the deal but these guys are exempt from making amends.
This is but another stinky necklace hanging around the Republican’s collective neck and since they’ll never, ever admit fault, this doozy will be wreaking for a long time.
It does match the WMD charm quite well though, so they’ve got that going for them.

“We’ve tried bullshit, the birth certificate and Benghazi. Maybe we need to try something that starts with ‘C’ and see if it sticks to the President.”

Has he told Lindsey Graham this? Although I’m guessing Lin would like to be held down and forcibly told it by Flake. Maybe some light spanking just to be extra firm.

I was trying to help him “move on from Benghazi.”

Flake’s not stupid. His problem is McCain is his mentor.

I read the headline and I thought maybe he was less of flake than he’s been but no. He still doesn’t understand (poor) Susan Rice’s role in the non-scandal, or if he does understand it he’d rather continue to attack her.

. . . in the days after the attacks, there was contradictory intelligence about what precipitated them and who was behind them. Ultimately, Ms. Rice’s assertions were wrong, the committee said, but there was no evidence that the administration was attempting to misconstrue the facts.

No, please don’t let it go. Have the Senate investigate too like Lindsay Graham wants. Please continue to make complete fools out of your party by wasting taxpayer dollars on pointless investigations. By doing that we can take the Senate back in 2016. PLEASE don’t let this go, keep investigating.

Flake’s problem is that he’s a modern-day republican.

I thought he was taking lessons from dinostein in having things both ways.

Translation: “We’ve wrung just about all we can from this fake bullshit, but hey, it helped get us control of the Senate!, so it’s all good!”

Translation: We Won, Mission Accomplished.

Good grief, I can’t stand these people and the report said Susan Rice and the Obama administration did nothing wrong… so how about an apology.

“Ought to” and “Will” tend to be different things in the GOP.

“We ought to pass a Jobs bill.”

“We ought to pass an immigration bill.”

“We ought to be something other than the party of ‘no’.”

“We ought to pull our heads out of our asses.”

Nope, nope, nope, annnd nope.
