Discussion: Flake: 'Nobody' Should Support Trump's Pledges On Wall, Ending DACA Program

Republicans following principles? Oh, Jeffrey, you’re so droll!

Remember three things about politics, Darr.

  1. The Blind Pig Principle: Even a blind pig finds the occasional acorn.
  2. The Broken Clock Principle: A broken clock is right twice a day.
  3. The Post Turtle Principle: When you find a turtle on a fence post,
you can be sure the turtle didn’t get there by itself. While it’s
okay to wonder which stupid SOB put the turtle on the fence post,
the kind thing to do is to take the turtle down.

Jeff Flake fits one of these principles, and possibly all of them.

I don’t know enough about this guy. He’s a pub, so Steeerike One! I know nothing of his politics on specific issues that concern me the most. What I can say without reservation is it makes me smile that this guy causes trump irritation. So if he’s a bad rash on the testicles of the awe-inspiring cataclysm that is trump, three cheers.

Should we continue to ignore this story out of, what, politess?

Well, Politico is reporting tonight that Trump will, in fact, end DACA. It won’t go into effect immediately, but no one yet knows what the delay period will be. I assume that delay represents a hope (unfounded as that may be), that Congress can pass some kind of legislation to moderate the horrible, inhumane effects. There are also rumors of large protests ready nationwide for Tuesday.

Delay period for ending DACA according to other sources is six months… enough for Feckless Leader to 1.) show His base He is commited to keeping the browns on the other side of the line and 2.) hang the blame for ending DACA on Congress, with the thought being that the base will elect better, smarter, stronger Trump-noser Republicans in 2018.

I couldn’t even type that with a straight face :stuck_out_tongue:

This is a member of the party of NO speaking. Flake is flailing around looking for stuff to be against, because he was elected to be against stuff.

Most of the modern crop of republicans are more comfortable getting in the way of stuff than doing stuff. Many of them expected Hillary to get elected, thus securing their lucrative congressional jobs by rousing the rabble and collecting cash form the BENGAZI!!! crazies.

Flake is doing what comes naturally to him, it just sounds odd now because he’s saying stuff we all kind of agree with. Don’t be fooled.

Good words. Now, back it up.

Will the Dreamers get their money back? Each of them paid $ 495 to apply and now the new administration has their cash and knows where they are.
Didn’t the Nazi’s charge the Jews for their papers needed to get out of Germany? And confiscated their businesses, homes and property?

Maybe. But I am pretty sure whoever he runs against in the General will be getting it a lot more right than Flake is now.

And that’s his electoral problem; he is being forced to present himself as “Dem-lite”. And that may work to survive the republican primary against Chemtrail Kelly, but leaves him deeply exposed in a General.

He does hail from Snowflake, AZ (no lie)

A little less BS, Flakey and a little more action please!

I believe the word is “mavericky” and I don’t think Flake has crashed enough planes (real or metaphorical) to qualify…
