The White House has accused Feinstein of mounting an “11th hour attempt to delay his confirmation.”
This I suppose is meant to be compared to the successful 1st hour attempt to delay any hearings on Merrick Garland. At this point I am beginning to think that if Mueller proves collusion on the Trumps then not only should Kavanaugh not get his vote, but Gorsuch should get another vote… for impeachment. A stolen election should NOT be allowed to affect the country for the next 40 years.
A lot of what the accusations involve are on the record. Flake and Graham should be more interested in establishing the kind of rape Kavanaugh and Judge contemplated. It seems like a garden-variety opportunistic impulse rape created by the circumstances. Kavanaugh’s impulsiveness seems to have emerged on several occasions in his life, including his gambling issues. This, even with decades of Federalist Society grooming.
Hmmmmmmm…I think you actually meant “should not be allowed to affect”.
Thanks

Oh, yes, and I agree 150% that Gorsuch should be impeached and removed.
I did not do this back in high school or at any time.”
I could be wrong, but this seems like covering his ass for incidents that happened later.
It is telling that the Repugs were able to get letters of support signed by 65 women who knew Kavanaugh on a moment’s notice. They clearly knew about this incident and were hoping it would remain hidden until the vote by the whole Senate. The Senate should subpoena the other male and get his story. Of course he is undoubtedly a Repug and will lie and say he doesn’t remember anything or that nothing happened.
There seems to be circumstantial evidence of a corrupt agreement between Trump and Kavanaugh. That already casts a cloud on Gorsuch, and of course he sits on the bench because of a corrupt violation of the Constitution and long-standing norms of political behavior. So if the worst suspicions are confirmed about Trump and he’s forced to go, there should be a strong push for Gorsuch to step down as well in order to eradicate any effects from this sorry episode. And if not, yeah, impeach him. I don’t love the idea and it has downsides, but he’s there illegitimately.
I don’t know if there was any agreement as such, but I think Trump recognized a kindred spirit in Kavanaugh, if you get my drift. There may even have been a little “locker room talk” about “grabbing pussy”.
I don’t know either, obviously. But they’re working awfully hard to get a seriously tainted candidate through. I assume there’s a reason for that.
Abusers protect each other. We’ve seen it in the Catholic Church, Hollywood and elsewhere. Not only that, I think they can sense like-minded people when they meet them even if they don’t directly talk about that.
I think Gorsuch isn’t a bad guy himself and if the Trump Presidency goes down in flames with the investigation revealing serious wrongdoing to influence the election I would hope he would do the right thing and resign for the sake of healing the nation. It would be the act of a great American and would give him an honorable place in the history books if he did so. I am willing to believe it of him until it is proven otherwise.
But if not, either impeach him or expand the court to dilute his vote.
I know relatively little about him. Maybe he’s one of the types who thinks if it weren’t him it might be somebody worse. But he’s sitting in a stolen seat and he surely knows it. I’ve never faced quite so strong an ethical temptation as he did in being nominated, but I’ve faced a few, and I’ve tended to do the right thing, just how I was raised. So I hope he would resign too. I’d give him a lot of credit. I doubt expanding the court is in the cards, though. I’d settle for a return to nominating brilliant nonpartisans as a strongly enforced norm.
Flake, Collins and Graham are conservative Republicans. This is just smoke and mirrors window dressing and posturing. These guys would vote even a pedophile like Roy Moore to the Supreme Court.
Trump: They can hear her sad story on Hannity after Kavanaugh is confirmed.
How nice. But no matter what they hear they’re going to vote yes.
I’m all for giving him the opportunity to do the honorable thing and resign. But, if he fails to resign, then, yeah, impeach his ass.
