Discussion: Flake Compares Trump To Stalin In Upcoming Speech

Flake is trying to look courageous by giving the occasional speech to try to pave the way for a presidential run. But he does nothing to back up his words. He votes with Trump nearly 100% of the time, like a good little Republican toady, including all of Trump’s utterly awful nominees. Let’s make sure we don’t forget, when Flake inevitably runs for president, that his words are empty as he continues to fail to back his words up with action.

And Flake voted for the Trump agenda HOW OFTEN?

Flake compares Trump to Stalin, and Stalin takes offense.

This is the same Jeff Flake who has yet to stand up to Trump in any important vote, right?

Hmm.

ā€œRussian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused the United States of
destabilizing the world, airing a list of grievances over the Trump
administration’s foreign policy.ā€

I’m so tired of Flake, wanting credit for saying something but doing nothing. If you really think Trump is Stalin-esqe, perhaps you shouldn’t vote with him nearly 100% of the time. Maybe you should block his incompetent judicial appointments, support and protect the Mueller investigation…hell, maybe even change to Independent. Otherwise, it’s just a nothingburger. And nothing will change.

ā€œWhen the next generation asks us, ā€˜Why didn’t you do something? Why didn’t you speak up?’ What are we going to say?ā€ [Flake] asked.

If I may offer a suggestion, ā€œBecause we were spineless self-serving assholes and just as morally bankrupt as the Orange Menace.ā€

No other answer will ring true…

Are Stalin’s descendants filing a slander / defamation suit against Senator Flake?

Talk about getting your stellar humanitarian reputation burned by being compared to Donnie.

Trump’s power right now is derived from those supporting him and benefiting from his agenda. Until those benefiting (tax cuts, regulations eliminated, govt demolished) take a stand despite the possibility of losing those policy victories, this will not end. It’s not dems. It’s not even Trump himself (he ain’t changing). It’s the republican leadership. Full stop. (This is me holding me breath…)

Longest rollout to a speech since forever.

Flakey Jeff is all bullshit and no action. He will endlessly BS about how he opposes Tweetler as a person but he will vote for every bill President Marmaladeface pushes!

The sad part, at this pace, this world is occupied with racing through these moments on Twitter and Face Book and not really discussing them.

And the next generation, whatever that means lately, will be asking those questions on Twitter and Face Book.

Tio Wally likes to compare Jeff Flake to a typical butt boy.

The Arizona senator’s office on Sunday released excerpts of a speech the senator is expected to give on the Senate floor.

Something tells me McConnell might employ some parlimentary tactic to avert the speech being given on the Senate floor.

I think Flake deserves all the scorn people like us have heaped on him so far. It’s hard not to conclude he’s been trying to have it both ways. But this is quite a step to take, comparing the sitting President to Josef Stalin. So I’m going to reserve judgment about where he is right now and what he plans to do in the future. I’m not making any assumptions, but sometimes things change over time. Just saying.

Well I can take his comments in several directions, but focusing on that.

If you put the world in flames, the systems and structures that exist to permit the World Oligarchy/Criminal Franchise to make the wealth they do will likely fail. So I am wondering if things have gone too far.

Not sure. I figure McConnell knows that at some point he will need to point to ways he pushed back against Donald. Letting Flake give a speech is about as much as McConnell will be able point to.
