Well thanks for wasting everyone’s time with the fake grandstanding that you give a shit.
What a phony and a fraud. He knows Kav repeatedly and blatantly lied under oath to the Senate, and he doesn’t care.
How about a small nuclear explosion under Senate chambers would that be big enough for you to change your feeble mind? Can’t wait for you to run for the Dotards spot.
Flake must have been out of the room when his colleague Senator Klobuchar was questioning the candidate.
Or maybe it’s just because the rape was not successfully consumated.
But , oh my, doesn’t Senator Flake look oh so presidential? It’s like he has 2020 vision…
Fuck Flake.
“Thanks, Dad.”
— Alexis Flake
I understand Flake’s vote to confirm. He’s a relatively young man, with many potential years of elective office in front of him. If he votes no Trump will surely see to it he has to endure a nasty, protracted primary battle before he can even contemplate his final run at re-election to the Senate in the general. Why choose the rough road to victory when he can put his incumbency to good use?
You have that pained and concerned face down so well, Flake, but that’s as far as it goes. Fuck you.
So, this whole thing is really up to Collins. Manchin will announce last and follow whatever Collins does.
Flake was a guaranteed “YES” vote all along.
He cannot risk not being seen as “Conservatively Pure” enough if he expects to get that cushy conservative lobbying job the day he leaves the Senate.
Collins was ALWAYS a “YES” vote.
Murkowski may still vote “YES” on the final confirmation despite taking the high road on the vote to cloture.
With the Colorado Senator saying he will be “Not Present” for the final vote, that makes it; 50-49.
Even if Murkowski votes “NO” (which I highly doubt) it will be 49-49 with Pence casting the tie-breaker in favor so; 50-49.
There is also a HIGH likelihood of Manchin voting “YES” which makes it all moot anyway (that way Trump can crow about how “Bi-Partisan” the vote was.)
Face it. The FIX was always in on this.
I understand your point of view, but you–and Flake–fail to see that his grandstanding and ultimate cave-in mean that he has no political future. He is from Arizona, a state turning purple rapidly. After his performance here, no Democrat will vote for him. His criticisms of tRrump, even though they never came to anything, mean that the tRump base will avoid him forever. Women will remember what he did here.
Flake failed to realize that the best and only way to have a future political career (at least beyond the level of state rep, maybe) was to show some courage and decency here.
At this point in time, Flake has nothing to lose. He might think he’s got a viable path to higher political office but he doesn’t. He couldn’t deal with another term now and the political calculus doesn’t get any better for him with time. He’ll go off into the sunset and delude himself that he did the right thing.
I hate to go ad nostrinem, but clearly, this guy’s nose points the one direction he never, ever goes.
Flake is on the fast-track to a lobbying job anyway. He is exiting Politics for the big $$$.
Any time, Mr. Mueller, any bleeding time…
Possibly, but I’m betting Flakey is thinking he looks pretty presidential right now. At least to the deplorables…
