Discussion: FL Gun Dealer Where Alleged Orlando Shooter Purchased Weapons Identified

The New York Daily News reported that the store’s owner, Ed Henson, an ex-NYPD officer, had posted on Facebook in December a meme that said, "F— Islam, F— Allah. F— Muhammad. F— the Koran. F— people who support terrorism,” as well as a comment in November calling for Obama to be “handcuffed, removed from Office and charged with Treason and then publicly executed!”

"How can the American People and military stand by and do nothing while this piece of sh-- puts everyone of us in danger,” the post said.

Gee, that’s kind of ironic, actually. But it was nice of them to say their thoughts and prayers were with the victims, who will be glad to hear that I’m sure. The ones who remain alive, anyway.

BTW is this the same store that refused to sell Mateen the military-grade body armor he wanted? I wonder why? Got a whiff of something not quite right? Many questions to ask here.

Says the guy who sold guns to someone on the terror watch list who committed the biggest mass shooting in US history.

So since you are now as responsible as anyone for this shooting can we the people not stand by and allow you to do it again?

“Their thoughts and prayers are with the victims…”

Also a large quantity of their ammunition…

Former NYPD officer now gun store owner:

"F— Islam, F— Allah. F— Muhammad. F— the Koran. F— people who support terrorism,”

Since YOU sold him the guns, YOU are supporting terrorism. What part of that is so confusing for sh*theads like yourself?

PS Thankfully, he’s no longer in NYC.

EDIT TO ADD: Will there EVER be a point at which Americans connect the dots?

When lowlife folks like that… burble ‘thoughts and prayers’… it makes me so angry. They are not thinking… nor is anyone listening to their faux prayers. They took his money tho, damn straight.

Hope he loves the money he got from that sale… because unless the righties are totally off the deep end, this scum just went out of business.

Hate makes strange bedfellows.

Again with the “thoughts and prayers”! I hope this stupid RW motherfucker is destroyed by this. Guess what, you Teabagger piece of shit? You’ve got a lot more to fear from a pissed off gay community than the president you hate so much. We’re not the cowering little faggots that your RW thinking imagines us as.

“Fuck Allah”? So the gun owner doesn’t believe in God? Or, perhaps he doesn’t know that Allah and God refer to the same all-powerful being. Which makes him even more of a moron.

This motherfucker publicly wished for the violent death of the president. Why isn’t he being arrested and charged with sedition? Where’s the Secret Service?

Maybe he is from the Shinto religion, but more likely a moron.

If politically we cannot get an outright ban on high capacity weapons, then we need to take another approach. Its way past time to change the laws to allow victims and their families to bring suit against dealers and manufacturers. The risk of participating in the arms business has to be made greater than profit.

Almost all of these mass murders are committed by young men age 30 and under. This is the age when their testosterone is highest and signs of mental illness start to appear. The national registry is not able to identify every risky person – so there needs to stepped up screening by dealers. These people are the first safety net and they need to take this responsibility seriously not just because its the right thing to do, but because they could be held legally accountable.

All males within this age range (18 to 35) need extra scrutiny from dealers when they are attempting to purchase high capacity weapons. If its alleged that a dealer has failed to exercise due diligence in screening a sale, they should be able to be sued if the weapon is used in a mass killing. A bar can be sued for serving drinks to an already intoxicated person who ends up behind the wheel – but not the dealer of guns? The financial hit for making a poorly judged sale should be far greater than the loss of the sale.
