Huh-Let The Games Begin!!! Awesome!

Ok, like Liberty university is an institution for higher thought anyway. They are pretty much an evangelical conservative breeding ground.

How does the TPM author of this article mention repeal of Common Core without mentioning the fallacy of doing it at the Federal level, and without dispelling the myth it is a creation of the Federal government?

Forty-five states and the District of Columbia have already adopted the Common Core State Standards, which were released in 2010 by the bipartisan National Governors Association Center for Best Practices and the Council of Chief State School Officers. But as the K-12 educational standards are rolled out across the country, misconceptions abound.
“The Common Core State Standards began with the idea that math in Massachusetts is not any different from math in Maryland, and now politics are involved,” says Chris Minnich, executive director of the CCSSO.
Supporters of the new standards tout the fact that teachers from any part of the country can share ideas, and hope that if students move across state lines, they will have a smooth academic transition. Despite the potential for greater national unity among public school districts and bipartisan support at the outset, since the Federal government has voiced support for the standards, there is opposition, Minnich points out.

Here are some of the most prevalent myths – and the facts – about Common Core.

Myth: The Common Core State Standards are a federally mandated curriculum.

The 1965 Elementary and Secondary Education Act forbids the Federal government from intervening in school curriculum development. States independently adopted the Common Core, a set of math and English Language Arts standards for K-12 students to reach by the end of each grade level. School districts design the curricula, and teachers create their own methods for instruction, selecting the resources best tailored to their lessons.
Confusion about what part the federal government plays in Common Core may stem from President Barack Obama’s Race to the Top initiative, which awarded more than $4 billion in federal grants to 19 states that demonstrated a commitment to education reform and innovation. Race to the Top applicants who agreed to adopt the Common Core standards had a small number of points (40 out of 500) added to their score, since the Core standards align with Race to the Top’s goals. While some right-leaning groups reject the standards, calling them an example of government overreach, other traditionally conservative groups such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce support them.

Ted Cruz is a not circuit court judge and does not get to decide what is “illegal, and unconstitutional.” If he truly respected The Constitution he would respect the separation of powers and would keep his big mouth shut and let Obama’s executive action on immigration go throught the normal appeal process, but he does not.

I just really needed to say that. I am so sick of that big mouth blowhards lies and exaggerations (-:

So, the theory is that the first guy in the clown car gets to drive? Cool! It should be fun to watch this one car demolition derby as he keeps ramming head-on into barriers at full speed, unintentionally of course.

Ted Cruz respects one thing only: fascism.

Forget what he said. I know what Liberty University is about. But WTF all these college students going crazy over this? I mean seriously WTF? Are these college students brainwashed by their families or what??? On other hand it’s freaking spring break. Depressing to realize the Zealouts will continue for generations…

Fine but WTF These college students are that… They don’t think for themselves? Geez to go crazy over Ted Cruz and the 5 things listed in this article. I DON’T GET IT!!!

The ACA allows these college students to remain on their parent’s medical plan until age 26. They may graduate and need time to locate a job. They may want to take a sabbatical and travel. They may find themselves in other circumstances where insurance coverage through their parents plan prevents a major (or minor) medical issue from ruining their finances and credit rating before they’ve even started their career. Yet they cheer its repeal. I’m continually amazed at the ability of the GOP to recruit people to causes and policies that will damage their own interests.

The GOPig sheeple’ should have a merry old time choosing which of their batsh*tcrazy candidates is “far enough” to the right. It will be like watching Republicans choose which STD would be just right for themselves and their families.

Hopefully Democrats looking for a way to to defeat Cruz are reading your post. It’s all they really need. And it also happens to be the truth.

Cruz is a fast-talking idiot. But he’s the Republican’s idiot, so:

Run, Ted, run. Beat up all your fellow Republicans. Good job…

These people aren’t college students in the normal sense of the term. People come to Liberty University (founded by Jerry Falwell) pre-brainwashed. Think of it as the spin-dry cycle. Think of all of Dubya’s policy speeches at military installations. It’s much the same thing: A captive audience and no overt dissent.

People need to stop saying how “brilliant” Cruz is when he doesn’t even realize that Common Core is not a law. But I guess when you spend most of the time in the Senate obstructing or reading Dr. Seuss, you probably wouldn’t know that.

One of the kids who was forced to attend Cruz’ little hate/announcement/BSC “rally” at Liberty Univ: “I like Cruz. He speaks truth to power.”
bwwaahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa’!

Oh wait…perhaps I’m wrong:

Ted Cruz: “Oh Mr. Koch. While I’m on my knees before you, do you need anything…anything else? I’m yours to command.”

Now children, let’s refresh our memories with this look at Five Conspiracy Theories That Ted Cruz Actually Believes:

George Soros leads a global conspiracy to abolish the game of golf.

Communists infiltrated Harvard Law School.

Islamic law threatens the United States.

Obama wanted immigration reform to fail so he can campaign on it in 2016.

George W. Bush led an assault on Texas’ “sovereignty.”

Drive the gops further to the right?

How is that possible?

They are as far right as there is to go. Right up to the top of the right-wing cliff. One more step…

What the hell is that on his NECK!?

Common Core is the experts’ consensus, which is 5 times worse than a Federal mandate. Republicans are to education policy what a man who left a good dump this morning is to the department of sanitation.

If Common Core required imparting Jesus rode a dinosaur, Darwin was the spawn of Satan and the Sun revolved around the Earth the howls of protest and repeal from the Right would cease.
