Discussion: Five Steep Cliffs Facing The Dysfunctional Congress In 2015

These aren’t cliffs and there is no crisis. The Republicans just refuse to govern without taking more away than they give. The crisis is that they get elected again and again in hopes that they’ll change and get America moving which they have no intentions of doing. They get by by blaming everyone but themselves for the silly problems that they cause but that is wearing thin.
When Republicans have control, the country and the world start falling apart and its hold on to our butts time until we have the opportunity to repair their wreckage once again.

Each one of these critical points will come and go just like always but the Republicans add the ominous music to the background to make it seem like Friday the 13th sequels or Hellraiser possibly, starring Pinhead.

Very true. After the '14 midterms, I saw that some progressives were saying things like, “Well, no one is motivated to vote” in order to justify their not voting.

On the contrary, SOME people are voting but it’s not Dems or even Indies. It’s the hard core Confederacy (as you say) along with a truckload of the elderly.

I think another issue that is really, really problematic is that the GOP has NO LEADERSHIP at this point. Really, none. It’s now gotten to the point where McConnell is letting a junior freshman Senator pull off a stunt that embarrasses them to the entire world. The Entire GOP congress is nothing more than one raging id and there’s no control valve to turn it off.

The GOP of today is nothing but a band of OBAMA HATERS, ignorant morons that DO NOT want to govern America, but want to present an UNFUNCTIONAL government in order to prove their point that Congress is useless… "dysfunction by IDEOLOGY…

Has anyone ever attempted to explain why Republicans/Conservatives get religion about budgets/deficits when out of power but ~sequester~ their beliefs when they are in power?

And in the end they will back down on everyone…

I find myself hoping that GOP Congress occupies themselves with their self-made crisis the whole term and leave us alone. Also, I am curious why the SS disability “crisis” is not on this list.

Personally, I think the reason the manufactured “SS Disability crisis” isn’t being pumped up by the GOP is two fold.

It pretty much flopped when it was first rolled out and they really need some idiot Dems on board to join them. They won’t go out on the limb by themselves and Dems are pretty unified (right now) against them.

Hey! That’s an insult to the '63 Mets. The early Mets were a bunch of guys trying really hard to play baseball, they just weren’t up to major-league standards. Many GOP legislators also aren’t up to snuff, but the more important thing is that they have contempt for the job they’re supposed to be doing. It’s more like a major league team announcing that they won’t bother swinging at the ball until management puts a better grade of champagne in the locker-room drinking fountains.

I have never “blamed” the FOX-bred Confederacy for this mess, any more than I blame the sun for going down at night.

The Rump of America has always been thus. The difference is the non-voters on our side.

That’s easy. Look up “hypocrisy”.
