Discussion: Five Points On The Abortion Bill Gov. Walker Can’t Stop Talking About

Discussion for article #237149

yep… no war on women here… the Republican position on women is crystal clear… you’re brood mares first and foremost… get ready for the veils if he’s elected…

Walker wants to horrify the pro-choicers in a splashy way. It’s part of his ‘win the Iowa caucuses’ strategy. Wisconsin has become his experimental test subject about which he cares not a whit.

How’s that tort reform working for you, conservatives?

There was no “war on slaves” either…until people (Abolitionists, resistant slaves, etc.) thought it so.

Similarly, if Walker and his minions wish to eventually place women in burqas, that’s no indication of a war on women either…if enough people don’t express resistance.

This business of Democrats “coming out” (to vote) almost sounds, obscenely, like going out on a date (which, for most people, is optional).

With over 63%+ of people (mainly Democratic constituencies) failing to take the one day every two years to getting enough momentum to vote, I would say the whole thing IS obscene.

If Democratic constituencies voted to the degree of those on the Right, Walker, first of all, wouldn’t be elected. Second, he may well be already in prison for crimes (as evaluated by competent ELECTED and appointed-by-ELECTED officials).

To me, the sluggard=the TeaBagger.

Has always been.

I know your observation was snark. I was using the metaphor to make a point.

All these attempts at an end-around of Roe v. Wade just serve to illustrate how little respect Republicans have for pregnant women. The entire enterprise reeks of patronization and paternalism.

Side issue, related to Walker’s bravado: His sons are 19 and 20. With Walker’s stance on ISIS, the Mideast in general and his policy prescriptions, have they joined the military?? If not, why not??

Doctors in Wisconsin and states with similar laws should consider moving here to NY. Neither our voters or our legislature are crazy, which must be a selling feature to those who are told what to say and do without regard for competent medical practices.

Abortion is an apt issue for Walker.

Walker and his fellow woman hating candidates get to make absolute asses out of themselves while trying to win the primaries, then the lucky winner will get to go into Romnerd level spin mode to vie for the office of the Presidency. Fortunately for us, the fact that they are such crude, Neanderthalish politicians now, precludes them from ever becoming President.
This sounds wrong but we need Walker and the conservative men’s club to show what they are really all about, as nauseating as they are, otherwise we could be compassionately and conservatively fooled again.
