Discussion for article #243250
So, guy walks into planned parenthood muttering about ābaby partsā, kills several people, including a police officer, but hey, its ānot ideologicalā? And what, all the Jews killed during the Holocaust were just a ācoincidenceā?
Another inflammatory video the right wonāt own up to. Another case of refusing to call radical Christian terrorism what it is. Todayās GOP. Supporting hate and division at home and abroad.
said Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers, a former U.S. attorney and state attorney general.
āMurder charges will be more than adequate on the local level.ā
Pardon me, but, hell no-- they arenāt.
One would have to be purposefully obtuse to make that statement.

Evidently, white men who commit these type of atrocities in the U.S. canāt be motivated by ideology or politics. They can only be crazy.
Leave the cop killer to the Colorado Springs police. They already have him and already know he did it. Federal agents should be plenty busy figuring out whether he belongs to a terrorist organization, and even busier proving it and busting the accomplices. Thatāll be plenty difficult to prove, since any half baked halfwit can buy himself a semiautomatic combat rifle off the shelf of any number of gun stores, and convert it to fully automatic at the speed of the Post Office or faster.
I havenāt been paying too much attention due to the holiday. Is the right in full-bore spin mode and tripping over logic to make it look like this guy was an Obama supporter or something? Or are they just ignoring it and running clips of BLM protesters instead?
Anyone who does not call this a āwhite Christian terrorist attackā is a terrorist.
There, Fox News, see what I did?
We canāt possibly ask the anti-abortion crowd to take responsibility for their hateful rhetoric. If they did that might spill over to the media who amplify it on the radio and cable TV. Canāt have that. The authorities just wonāt acknowledge domestic Christian terrorists in America.
āThe case may fit the criteria for a federal domestic terrorism case, but based on my experience, I would be very surprised if this is not simply a local prosecution,ā said Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers, a former U.S. attorney and state attorney general.
Colorado has the death penalty, and that may be what heās referring to here. Iām pretty sure I disagree with him: weāve had way too many incidents like this one. Clinic bombings, arson at clinics, physicians made murder targets: this is all much too much. If the U.S. Attorney for Colorado determines that it fits the criteria for domestic terrorism I would like to see the case prosecuted, and the cost be damned.
Faux News and its echo machine have worked hard to pour cold water on the idea that we have home-grown terrorists. A prosecution and conviction would provide evidence that they are full of stuff that belongs in a manure pile.
Dear Teatrolls:
YOU BUILT THIS.
Go Fuck Yourselves,
Everyone Else
Whatever authorities decide is sure to be controversial, given the political murkiness of Dearās statements and the debate over Planned Parenthood, which was reignited in July when anti-abortion activists released [fake] undercover video they said showed the groupās personnel negotiating the sale of fetal organs.
Fucking AP, reporting like this is part of the problem.
The Liberal Media isnāt calling this what it clearly is, Christian Terrorismā¦ or, if you prefer, Religious Terrorism. Guess we donāt want all the fear-mongering GOP politicianās venomous vitriol to end up making them feel responsible for these types of extremists.
When I first came to live in America one of the things that impressed me the most was āpragmatismāā¦an American philosophy thatās in everything America is. āDonāt fix it if it aint brokeāā¦sounds simple enough but virtually all of Americaās problems today come from fixing shit that was not broken. Another favorite was āif it walks like a dickā¦quacks like a duckā¦itās probably a duckā. And its corollary: āit sure as hell aint no deerā.
āno mare baby partsā isnāt a deer despite Senator Cruzās claims to the contrary. .
Thereās no evidence religion is involved. It probably is but no media, Liberal or otherwise, should report that until they know it. So far all weāve heard is that man is not religious. Itās nice to see your positions taken up by the media. Thatās why folks like FOX. But media does have a real role to play and I think itās nice, when every now and then, they actually do it.
Yup. But if youāre a Teatroll itās working perfectly.
Black man does it = thug. We need to get tough on crime!
Hispanic man does it = illegal gangbanger. We need to deport these Mexicans!
Muslim man does it = terrorist. Send troops now and seal the borders!
White man does it = mentally ill lone wolf. (shrug) Nothing can be done.
Yeah I think you missed my sarcasm. The media is indeed not labeling this guy anything but the cowardly murder he is. However, had this been an attack on a right-wing organization I highly doubt the media, particularly Fox News, would show the same restraint.

ā¦
Mr Walsh, I would suggest it proper to āthrow the book at himā meaning charge that terrorist with every infraction you can. How would you be reacting if this was a man from ā¦sayā¦ Syria?
Many of the candidates are pretending it just never happened. Cruz is in full bore spin mode about they guy being a transgendered liberal leftist because they apparently found a voting register record that had the gender marked incorrectly. The few others that have acknowledged the attack, basically condemn the shooting and then go on to blame Planned Parenthood for the shooting.
This is going to be a hugely problematic issue for the GOP; they are going to have to dial up their cognitive dissonance up to ā11ā in order to deal with it. I think most are hoping it fades away quickly, but it wonāt; there will be steady drip drip drip of information destroying the memes the Right is desperate to construct.
