Discussion: First At TPM: Dems Release Blistering New Ad Hitting Michigan GOPer On Medicare

Discussion for article #228347

Crush her like a grape! No mercy!
Republicans have done far too much damage to Michigan already.

Land is a reprehensible moron—unfit for any office of public trust.

In other words, she’s a classic Republican.

“Blistering?”

Seems like standard content for an attack ad. Gotta hype that headline. Or maybe Daniel Strauss just blisters easily.

BUT IT’S FIRST AT TPM!!!

Yes, apparently bragging about getting hold of the voiceover ahead of anyone else is now a thing.

"The new TV ad was released Thursday and is part of a statewide multi-million dollar ad buy. It is airing statewide. "

From the Department of Redundancy Department?

That department is a shortcut past the proofreading department.

Seems like every day here or at DK some Dem is “eviscerating” or “scorching” or “disemboweling” or “thrashing” or “destroying” some Republican

Yeah, there’s ointment for that.

Every day, words mean less.

Since she won’t even debate Gary Peters (as well as the positions she has taken in the past), her chances of beating him are poor.

Unfortunately, we have a bigger problem at the state level. I just read this morning that three vocal tea party members who are likely to win in November want the next GOP Speaker of the House to adopt the Hastert Rule.

It’s going to get ugly here if they get their way. One of the three, Cindy Gamrat, of Plainville, said she really doesn’t want to make it difficult for the speaker to work with democrats in passing legislation.

She just thinks it is wrong for a handful of Republicans to join with a bunch of Democrats to pass anything.

She thinks the voters will be better represented this way and help “change the culture” in Lansing.

It sounds like the three aren’t getting endorsements, and other Republicans are speaking out about the disadvantages of invoking this rule.

After seeing the gridlock in DC because of Republican intransigence, it’s apparent that these guys are working to bring the “government doesn’t work” philosophy here.

Though I’m not a big fan of HuffPo, except generally for its accumulation of adorable animal videos, and “how to clean a ‘schmatta’” articles, this is kind of an interesting article on this evil witch. She’s been extremely secretive from the start, who still won’t give interviews or debate lest she be asked about any of her finances…

With a name like that, I just had to check it out. Even after visiting their website, I couldn’t tell it’s real or not. My gut says that it is.

You need to go watch the movie: “Idiocracy”.
Then you will understand.

Like so many Republicans, Land and her family have a number of shady business dealings in tier past that made them rich—at the expense of others.

Uh-oh. Better get the sitting room set up for the fact-checkers and the AP asshats:

Then there’s this new SuperPAC that’s suddenly helping her out called B-PAC which is run out of a Virginia Law Office and has put up money towards her floundering campaign in the amount of approx. $290,000.00 to run ads on her behalf. No one seems to know much about them…which I’m sure suits them just fine. Looks like a typical DC lobbyshop managing to escape registering as a lobbyist, but being run out of a DC-related Law Firm. She also has had the help of Joe Ricketts, the billionaire Hedge Fund Manager running wasted money on her campaign by the name of “Ending Spending” PAC. She definitely doesn’t advocate for anyone in the middle-class here in Michigan. Former Gov. Milliken ® has endorsed Gary Peters…that’s how bad she is.

Land recently went after Peters for some investment he had in a Mutual Fund in one of her campaign ads but when the Detroit Free Press did a check on her own investments, turns out she had the same company listed in her financial disclosures and she had far more invested with that company that deals in Pet Coke than Peters did by far. I believe the company was based in China.

RCP moved this race from “tossup” status to “Lean Dem”.

Don’t know why but your link doesn’t work for me chelsea530. All I can say, if only Michiganders all saw Snyder, “the bogus bullshitting accountant” that he claims to be, in the same light as they see Land. He’s been sooo enabled in the press to come off as some kind of moderate, when he’s nothing of the sort.

I think I remember you saying (could’ve been someone else from MI though) that filling roads and pot holes in the Detroit area had run out of money. Not here in Repubicstan in W. MI…I’ve never seen so much road repair work being done all at once and in a hurry, especially before an election. That’s no accident I can assure you. The apportionment seems really out of whack in the State as I see it.

Man, rememeber when there were Republicans like Milliken? I hardly can, it’s been so long.
