Discussion: Fiorina:

HOW MANY REFUGEES DOES THE U.S. ACCEPT?

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2015/09/04/us/ap-us-migrants-us-refugees-qa.html

The government has authorized 70,000 refugees to be resettled in the United States in fiscal year 2015, which began Oct. 1. The cap is set by the White House, which works with Congress and takes into account funding and the potential social and economic impact of refugees in the country.

About 51,000 refugees from all over the world have been resettled here through July, according to data compiled by the Refugee Processing Center. The State Department says the U.S. will likely reach or come close to meeting the 70,000 cap.

ā€œā€œWe have to be very careful about who we let enter this country from
these war torn regions to ensure that terrorists are not coming here,ā€
she said.ā€

Yeah boy a starving 3 yr old and his/her mom and dad are a real threat. So much for all that "compassionate conservative " bullshit.
Carly, these folks are trying to avoid violence, not spread it around. they have left hearth and home WITH ALMOST NOTHING ā€¦ in many cases not even a change of clothes. If they have nothing what the heck can they blow up or terrorize somebody with?

her ancestors got in ā€¦ but people like her called them names like ā€œWith Out Papersā€ and other slurs ā€¦ and would hang signs in their business telling them (using slur) not to apply.

Netanyahu is going the build wall the Rs can only dream of.

Okay, Missy Smarty Pants, are we going to deport all the Cubans who came here as refugees seeking political asylum? You know, historygoes back further than the cay you were conceived. Things are never as black and white as you GOTPrā€™s think they are.

There are Afghans who risked their lives and those of their families to translate for the army and our government people who didnā€™t speak Pashtun. Now they cannot get US entry visas or if they can they are still waiting for them and in many cases they have waited for years in hiding for fear of the Taliban.

Blue, thereā€™s a considerable wall that exists already between Arabs and Jews in Israel:

And thatā€™s between citizens in the same country.

ā€œCompassionate Conservativeā€ is such a yesterday term along with the guy who came up with it, Frank Luntz, Republican BS semantic specialist.

I believe itā€™s Mariel (after which Mariel Hemingway was named).

Colder than a witchā€™s kiss.

No surprise here. The GOP donā€™t want to take care of the poor (elderly, children, young and middle-aged adults, disabled) in this nation ā€“ why on earth would they want to extend a welcoming and helping hand to those in need from around the world? Good gosh, people, get your priorities straight.

I liked her better in that Cruella Deville role.

She has a point. After all, look at what happened to Hewlett-Packard when they relaxed their entrance criteria for the CEOā€™s office.

We could relax our entrance criteria for war refugees if we tightened our entrance criteria for wars.

OK, you free-associate at another level completely. I am in awe.

During the 1930s and even after the war began, the US sadly couldnā€™t relax its entrance criteria for European Jews either. Now, as then, Exceptional America has its nativist heritage to preserve.

If we donā€™t let in more immigrants, whereā€™s Cruella de Fiorina going to get the hides for her next golden parachute?

Pfft. It still wonā€™t keep out the zombies.
(Unless everyone is very quiet.)

What is wrote is so messy to say the least and backasswards too. Proving we are all great minds reading each otherā€™s.
