Discussion: Fiorina Slams Trump For Touting Support From Convicted Rapist Mike Tyson

With no due respect, Ms. Fiorina, but how many companies have you raped over?

broken clock etc

Can’t wait for The Donald’s twitter response to Fiorina. Pass the popcorn please. The next few days should be entertaining as the totally desperate Cruz campaign goes after Trump and he returns fire. I think it’s going to be a combo scorched-earth show.

He further blamed Washington for going to Tyson’s hotel room “at her own will.”

What was she wearing?

Many professional athletes have been coddled for so long, and escaped consequences for moral and criminal transgressions for years due to their skills, that they feel exempt from conventional norms of behavior. That includes treatment of women. They often have levels of mood altering steroids and supplements in the system. Their sport requires the cultivation of an aggressive and domineering attitude towards others, at least on their field of play. Unfortunately it may naturally spill over to their private life, those urges can be hard to wall off. Knowing all that I fail to understand why in the hell a single woman would enter, unescorted and/or alone, the hotel room of a pro athlete. Coaches have an admonition doled out to players, “Nothing much good ever happens after midnight.” Similarly, nothing much good ever happens to a young woman alone late at night in the hotel room of a professional athlete, especially considering it may be to cap off a night of drinking and partying. Go home, you’re asking for trouble.

I suspect that Trump feels that most rapists are innocent men who have been railroaded by bitches who had it coming, who wanted it and then cried rape afterwards.

Nothing Trump says about women would lead me to think anything else.

I read Ray Rice between the lines.

@spencersmom You’ll notice that the woman trumpf raped, his first wife, is noticeably quiet on the subject. He paid her well in the divorce settlement for her silence and it’s probably accurate to assume she’d forfeit all or part of it she spoke about it. Plus the shame rape victims feel afterward and abused women in general that often stops them from speaking out.

All I have to say about Mike Tyson is “Look at that face!”

Why should Trump’s outreach approach to women be any different than his outreach to say Latino’s? Or Muslims? Seems all of the same tune to me.

NOW you worry about women’s issues?

I love watching the GOP eat its own…delicious!

I can see women disagreeing with my post. Rape is deplorable and even the slightest hint a woman shares any responsibility for it happening is understandably upsetting. But isn’t all of life managing risk, and assessing what role you played in something negative that happened to you due to your mishandling of assessing those risks? Priests shouldn’t molest little boys. Why would a mother send an adolescent boy to a church late in the evenings for private bible reading lessons with a priest she didn’t even know? Would the boy have any blame in being abused? No, but did the mother properly assess the risk? Maybe not. It’s terrible to assume the worst about people, whether it be an athlete or a priest, but this is an effed up planet. Sometimes, like it or not, a person needs to be more proactive in their own interests. Men shouldn’t rape women. Could some women, in some circumstances, have done something commonsense in nature that would have prevented their rapes? I think so.

I’ll never forget Ivana’s line in the movie “The First Wives Club”

“Don’t get mad. Get everything.”

This is just a thinly disguised RACIST DOGWHISTLE.
Tyson is BLACK so he is bad.
It may work with the lilly-white rural evangelical dumb-fucks who make up 75% of Cruz supporters however.

I’m not sure this forum is the proper place for wide ranging discussion of the crime known as rape, though be assured I don’t disagree with what you say. Sometimes a lack of foresight can have tragic consequences. But I link you to this story about rape at BYU and how reporting it will bring a world of hurt down on the victim. It seems there’s a code of honor among Mormons and to report a rape breaks the code.
