What could be very interesting is if Simonds requests another recount and/or files a legal challenge to the obviously invalid ballot used to keep her out of office AND the courts rule either that the other close election must be revoted or that no one can be seated until they make a ruling.
Then the assembly will be 49-49. Interesting times.
Luis Tiant pitched a shutout against the Yankees in his Indians debut. Before he hurt his arm, he was a power pitcher supreme. In 1968 he was 21-9, with a 1.60 ERA and 264 Ks. Nobody noticed because of the years Bob Gibson and Denny McClain had. His father was a left hander in the Cuban and American Negro Leagues.
I had hopes for Joe Charboneau. And my favorite Washington Senators pitcher (I was a masochist in my youthful ecumenical alliegances) ended up pitching a no hitter for the Indians (Dick Bosman) before he retired.

I hope that this goes to court. The Democrat offered the Republican a deal, before the drawing of lots, to abide by the result of the drawing of lots and not to litigate the matter further. Yancey, the Republican, refused. So Simonds has every right, and I would argue is under the obligation, to take the matter to court.

Filed before election day…oh that’s rich. Democrats WORK for a living. They go to the polling location to cast a ballot because they ARE UNITED STATES CITIZENS and they expect that they will not be deceived by the party who will do anything to stay in control, that is the Republican Party.
I sure as hell would hope that she would go to the end of the earth to win this. I am so GD tired of the republicans cheating and screwing the American voters, our democratic process the constitution, moral standards and ethics just to WIN at all costs. To hell with the people, just WIN BABY WIN attitude and they have been getting away with this decades. Need I start listing all the ways republicans have screwed the democrats and over one half of the American people and are now trying to politicize the DOJ and the FBI and the CIA. What is going on in this administration is very unnerving and very scary to me. Karl Rove started interfering with the appointment of judges as I recall and now we have the republican party going after the DOJ and Special Council investigation. Where will this end . EVery democrat had better fight every election to the bitter end and this one in Virginia is of special importance because of control of the House in Virginia.

I was one of the 100,000 people who were one of the 5,000 who were at the Len Barker game. Well,not really. But I did watch it on TV.

I am pretty sure he came up with the Senators-Rangers. He was someone I had hopes for and eventually he had that game. 5,000 people in the largest capacity baseball stadium of its time.
well, in fairness, it was a miserable weather game, drizzling all day. Nobody knew it would be a perfect game.
