IT took him long enough to take the hint.

Now it’s time for the mayor to do the same.

The only thing better if he could have had some charges pressed against him for being a racist, incompetent, jackass!

Every little city in St. Louis County should be dissolved and St. Louis and St. Louis County should have a unified metropolitan government.

It would save millions in duplicate spending, and it would remove permanently the use of municipal courts as funding mechanisms for each little townlet.

Jackson will receive severance pay and health insurance for a year following his resignation

That’s a nice perk he managed there. On another note, are they looking into forgiving any of the fines’ that Ferguson residents received from trumped up charges from his officers?

I’m sorry… but doesn’t this crew look like it comes straight from “In the Heat of the Night”… minus Virgil Tibbs of course…

He’s probably already received job offers from police departments in SC, southern TX, and Arpaio’s office.

Time to go Chief. We recognized this months ago. I’m pleased you or somebody figured out that change can’t happen with you at the helm.

Perfect! Hopefully now the DOJ will also begin to prosecute those officials who abused their power and infringed on people’s constitutional rights.

Same comment as the story on the City Manager resigning: Better late than never.

Southern TX is far more liberal than the northern and eastern areas–
Houston, San Antonio, Brownsville-- boast huge Latino populaces
and representative numbers in government.

Note all the racist spew coming outta’ DFW lately?
And East Texas, the great Piney Woods region boasts Jasper TX–
the township where James Byrd Jr was dragged to death by white supremacists in 1998.

Jasper is about 70 miles north of Vidor TX (a rural hamlet just outside of Beaumont)
long-regarded as the most racist place in TX.
(Vidor joke: What do you get when 3 white women in Vidor have lunch together? A full set of teeth.)

Better late than never.

Apparently his family called and begged him to spend more time with them.

Or?
His lawyer told him to resign–
or he won’t be spending any time with them–
except every other Sunday from 1-4pm.

Hey, not that its worth the death of anyone, but this is actually turning in to something.
If we get rid of some more rotten cops and their horrible bosses we might be having things.
