Discussion: Ferguson Commission Recommends Sweeping Missouri Police Reforms

Discussion for article #240469

Ben Carson visited Ferguson last week, a reporter from our NPR affiliate did a quick Q & A with him. Carson said that ‘black people need to start respecting the police.’

I’m certain he wasn’t joking.

Carson is a Republican. He has to go along with the party line.

And he thinks white republicans don’t care that he’s black…ha ha ha…he may be able to perform rocket surgery, but he’s such a fool…

…because UncaBen doesn’t consider himself a black person.

Like with most Repubs, he hasn’t the capability of empathy. He would have to be rousted out of his house at 3:00am by police claiming he was a drug kingpin, before he would acknowledge the problems average black people have with police.

Did you ever notice how Repub politicians only support research into diseases if they have a family member who is afflicted?

Knowles is offended that they called it The Ferguson Commission. Tough luck. Let’s face it, Knowles, the whole thing came about because of what one of your cops did, and that, in turn, exposed the hypocrisy of your use of the Black community as a revenue stream rather than make them a true part of your city. If you don’t like the name, maybe you should have done something to create a more equal society. You didn’t, so you really have no reason to complain. No, you’re not the only racist government in the bunch, but you volunteered to become the poster child…so…yeah, your name is on the report.

I don’t get the insistence on keeping these tiny cities in St. Louis County. Having so many city governments, municipal courts, and police departments are very expensive. Why not consolidate into a lot fewer cities? It seems Ferguson could solve its police problem fast by annexing to neighboring St. Louis. Just like that, no more Ferguson police department.
