Discussion: Feinstein To Introduce Longshot Bill To Rescind Trump Immigration Order

More please. Roll out a bill to rescind it every single time he issues a decree, so that the GOP/Teatrolls in congress have to own it with him.

NO QUARTER.

Way to go, focus as much attention on this travesty as possible, as well as the orange travesty occupying the Gold House.

Good idea. I’ve already been hearing people bitch “where are the Democrats in all of this!!!1!”

They’re doing their fucking jobs.

I am not sure if this helps. It will align Republicans with Trump as they are vulnerable without Trump’s supporters. If Republicans go against Trump, he will unleash Tweets about them on a regular basis, inciting his vocal supporters.

Brava, Sen. Feinstein!

Yeah, this probably won’t go anywhere. Nevertheless, Democrats must work harder at making noise. Democratic voters want it, and the country needs it.

(And making noise is also something we humble citizens need to continue doing in a very big way!)

Yep, the ACLU has been far more vocal and effective on this than the DNC. Does the DNC still even exist? Can we put them on a milk carton?

Trump clearly won’t sign it but do they have enough votes to override a veto?

On a lighter note, Kellyanne, Reince, Sean, and a whole plethora (Donald thinks that word means the cord attached to a newborn baby) of the other Trump Flying PR Monkeys are out in full force trying to defend The Great Orange Skidmark’s “extraordinary accomplishments” (yes, KAC actually said that to the useless Georgie Boy on GMA this AM) committed on America and the world in a recored eight days. Let’s take a look at a small sample of their work, shall we?

Where are the Republican? Do they all with few exceptions condone this? Ethically challenged.

I was just going to post that! I’m sick of reading comments like that. Or would their critics rather the dems just shoot first, and ask questions later?

Nah. His train is off the rails. As it goes plowing through village after village, it will leave behind a trail of misery and suffering in its wake. His support is dwindling fast. I want every fucking Republican in the Senate and House forced to pick their poison every single fucking day of this administration. They must be forced at every step to choose between owning every debacle he creates or facing an angry mob of Trumpian methbillies at re-election. NONE of them should sleep soundly for the next 4 years or even be allowed to sit comfortably.

In a sane world, this would make sense. If the world was sane Trump would be no where near WH. His supporters/Republicans are just blind and thier hatred for others trumps everything. They will never get it and they will always blame someone else.

Indeed. But his supporters with that mentality are only about 23% of the country. He’s riding high at 36% approval because he hasn’t had enough time to fuck everyone’s ass yet…he’ll get around to it though. The number of people who regret voting for him will grow daily and we must cash in on that. Forcing the GOPers/Teatrolls at every turn to be on record as supporting his rape of all things good is a must…and for those that feel the pressure not to support him, that only works in our favor as well.

Edit: See how fast that have to disown it after owning it?

Good for her. Make McConnell explain over and over again why he won’t bring up popular legislation on an important issue, or have it introduced. Put all those fucking Republicans on the record with their votes. Prove to us that when they speak out against something Trump does, they are willing to put their votes behind their ‘strongly worded condemnations’…Otherwise, its just fucking words…At least this way, the press can’t honestly let them get off the hook and play those games over and over again, like they already do. McCain and Graham, and all the other pols that have a problem with this EO should be on the record trying to undo the mess Trump has singlehandedly helped to create with the wave of his pen.

Well, almost single-handedly.

Lets hope you are right. I dont have much hope based on Dubya years and Dems being well… clueless. The only thing that will work is do what Republicans do and not worry about the consequences: Obstruct Everything. No vote on any candidate of SCOTUS. Show you mean business. Block everything without thinking.

One party shooting first and thinking later is one too many.

I think Trump’s order is barbarous and authoritarian and I have already called my senators and congressman - but it scares me a little in the sense that it feels like one of these classic wedge issues. We should be papering them with bills about bolstering Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security daily not to mention fighting voter suppression loud and strong with examples and more examples. The second someone with a green card kills a blue-eyed blonde in this country the whole resistance on immigration is going to fold like a house of cards and the media will be asking Diane Feinstein how she feels about working to let this terrorist into the country.

Depends. A lot of Republicans aren’t sure yet whether they want to publicly support the Current Occupant or not. They wouldn’t want to go all in, only to find out that their constituents hate the guy. So they’re taking their time to see what’s what.

We’ll know in a few months if he really has the support of Congress or not.

Democrats - and any Republicans with ant survival instincts - better be running out a bunch of these votes- be on record as being in opposition - because Trump (Bannon) is rocking the boat with malice - stirring things up to crisis proportions - to then justify tanks in the streets - live fire on crowds of protesters - and he is rushing toward this as fast as possible -creating distracting controversy along the way - before any organized serious opposition can gel - - and rushing to get beyond the tipping point - so it eliminates any option of turning back - if Bannon has his way USA will be in a state of Martial Law by July 4th - if not by Memorial Day - initially “just temporary” … and then …

… basically Trump is executing a hostile take over of the USA … and will be disposing of ‘low value assets’ as swiftly & destructively as possible’ - name me one time - one time when Trump ever did any thing of significance with thoughtfulness, consideration, compassion - not even in his personal life doe he operate in that manner.
