Discussion: Feds: Former Rikers Guard Killed Inmate, Conspired With Others To Lie

Discussion for article #237365

Given this and the recent reports of people being held for years without trial, I’m thinking Riker’s is just one big Constitutional crisis. Whatever is actually the cause of these wrongs needs to be fixed, not discussed. Personally I’d begin by releasing anyone who has served more time than a conviction for their charges would involve…and I’d drop the charges too. Otherwise, New York will be paying literally billions to settle wrongful imprisonment cases. This jail may be many things, but one thing it is NOT is any part of the “Justice System.” There can be no justice inside those walls.
