Discussion: Feds Allege Mar-A-Lago Malware Courier Knew Cindy Yang Event Was Cancelled

So a Chinese spy, carrying all sorts of tech gear, tries to attend a non-existent event at the President’s own hotel which is guarded by virtually non-existent security, and is caught by a staff member who was at least paying some attention. Got it.

What a shitshow.

Definitely a sur-reality TV show in the offing…

Hotels and clubs don’t care about security directly. Is someone getting to eat or drink or sleep there without paying, or without someone else paying? Is someone doing something that disturbs the other guests? Otherwise it’s all good. (Or maybe attend some event without an invitation, but usually that’s the event’s lookout.)

I thought she wanted to use the pool?

It was only later that she mentioned the Cindy Yang non-event.

Meanwhile… Trump has a late Friday Trifecta

  1. He doubles down (in speech and Twit) to human trafficking immigrants to sanctuary cities to spite his opposition.
  2. NYT/CNN reports he told the then CBP head (now DHS head) to break the law and close the border ahead of his 1 year schedule. If imprisoned, Trump says he would pardon him. (sounds like a good deal)
  3. NBC reports that WH wanted military to build and run migrant camps, in clear violation of law.

Welcome to the new Banana Republic where laws are openly trashed to spite your opponents.

Simply amazing how quickly the law can move on one individual when they want to. Guess she is just too small a fish compared to the owner of Mar la Gogo.

Don’t worry, Trump’ll pardon her on his last day in office.

Will the last day be in the near future, as in yesterday already?

The Presidency has been vacant since January 20, 2017, and President Emeritus Obama is our recognized leader.

I like my reality and I’m sticking to it.

I wish the law would move quickly on Individual-1

If she had paid her $200 K membership fee she could have spied, bugged and malwared as much as she wanted to. This is what Individual-Uno means when he says no obstruction.

Sounds convincing.

Another reason why we have an Emoluments Clause in the Constitution.

William Barr is working hard right now, browbeating the Federal Prosecutor’s office in Florida to stop the investigation and drop the case, or settle with a slap on the wrist plea deal which includes the defendant’s voluntary repatriation to her country of oranges .

Frau Trump Grau…(horse neighs)

So this is the face of modern spying – portable HD, thumb drives, surveillance detection.
I’m thinking of all the spying we’ve known about involving Minox cameras and voice recording.
How many other such Chinese ventures have been successful – he asked rhetorically.

We may never know, but at this point I think it’s safe to assume our POTUS is an espionage enabler.

Serious?

No.

Imagine the rightwing outrage if this had happened in the Obama or HRC Adminstration. It would feed the madness of cable punditry, Congessional hearings, think tank/PAC fundraising, and international outrage for a few years.
