Hereās hoping this turns out to be the biggest blunder in the companyās history.
Fun Fact: Once you see the arrow in the FedEx logo you will never un-see it again.

A graphically talented person could replace the white arrow in their logo (between the e and x), with a white AR15.
Ha! Great minds.
The real power lies with credit cards and media companies, he said. Specifically in allowing or blocking purchases of firearms and NRA advertisements.
Thatās the problem with all boycotts, isnāt it? If I have to only pay cash at local stores that donāt sell guns or ammo, Iām pretty much limited to my prescriptions and groceries.
FEDEX stated:
āWe do not prohibit transactions on our network for the purchase or sale of lawful products and services, including guns in the United States,ā
FEDEX unstated:
⦠our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by guns we shipped
No surprise there.
I spent many hours on picket lines against them. Watched a chinese madam bring them to work in the van, show up lunch time to cook on a propane burner to feed them rice and come get them at days end. All paid for by Fedex
Had a non union construction contractor friend that learned the hard way that if you deal with fedex, get ready to go to court to maybe get paid. Lost 2 million on one of there new buildings along time ago.
Cost him āeverythingā
Fedex = bad
UPS = Great
lol
Very disturbing, and a very confusing header to the story. Apparently, FedEx is simply not discriminating against the NRA or gun owners as opposed to their own NRA boycott. Big difference. The title of the article suggests that they decided to continue with their endorsement of the NRA when, in fact, they are simply continuing to ignore the issue altogether. But, that also is a big part of the problem. Willful indifference is complicity. Also, notice how guns is now an economic issue and not just a social issue any more? Large corporations can live or die based on their support or objection to social issues. Live by the gun. Die by the gun. Thatās the sad day America died.
Edit: I now see how truly fucked up FedEx is with respect to guns. They are the Hobby Lobby of gun nuts.
The confidential policy allows these customers to ship guns at a much lower cost and has allowed FedEx to maintain its advantage in shipping guns. According to a source at FedEx, the exceptions to FedExās handgun policy started within the last five years in response to increased competition from UPS.
FedEx did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Dickās Sporting Goods Inc., one of the largest retailers of its kind in the United States, is taking new steps to curtail the sale of firearms in its 700-plus stores, including ending sales of assault-style rifles and banning the sale of guns to people younger than 21, the company announced this morning.
FedEx is trying to have it every which way on this. (all emphasis is mine)
First of all the issue is its offering discounts to NRA members.
The carrierās FedEx Advantage discount program is still available to members of the NRA Business Alliance, and the NRA still lists FedEx discounts among the benefits of joining its business association. The program provides a variety of discounts on FedEx services, ranging from 18% off on select FedEx Express international shipping to 26% off select FedEx Express shipping within the U.S.

FedEx tries to distance itself from the NRA, going so far to dodge and weave and throw shade at UPS. Yet the FedEx discounts are still available to Death Cult Ammosexuals through the NRA.
Update ā February 27, 2018 ā
FedEx is aware there are some continuing concerns related to the NRA, and we want to provide important, clarifying facts.
First, the pricing program that is the focus of these concerns is not for the NRA itself ā it is for American small businesses and consumers that are members of the association. For shipping from its online store (Shipping Information | NRA Store), the NRA uses UPS and not FedEx.
FedEx has never provided any donation or sponsorship to the NRA which is one of hundreds of alliance and association participants that serve more than one million customers. FedEx remains committed to all our customers and the pricing we provide them independent of their political affiliations and views.

Then it goes all in to distance itself from the NRA. In fact, it goes so far as to voice its full-throated opposition to assault weapons in civilian hands.
February 26, 2018 ā FedEx Corporationās positions on the issues of gun policy and safety differ from those of the National Rifle Association (NRA). FedEx opposes assault rifles being in the hands of civilians. While we strongly support the constitutional right of U.S. citizens to own firearms subject to appropriate background checks, FedEx views assault rifles and large capacity magazines as an inherent potential danger to schools, workplaces, and communities when such weapons are misused. We therefore support restricting them to the military. Most important, FedEx believes urgent action is required at the local, state, and Federal level to protect schools and students from incidents such as the horrific tragedy in Florida on February 14th.

Yet, the discounts are still currently available through the NRA Business Alliance.
Methinks FedEx is going to cave to the pressure much sooner rather than later.
If I were to join the fight against the NRA I wouldnāt just make it about AR15ās. Iād make it about the rhetoric they spew. Itās hateful and it asserts that half or more of the American people lack patriotism or outright hate America. The Organizations most avid followers have spewed d some of the vilest words ever uttered at the victims and family members of mass murders. Get some quotes and send them to the FedEx front office. Ask them if the agree. Because that is what they are supporting. A cult that has contempt and hatred for the majority of Americans. The NRA is not about guns anymore. Itās about gun nuttery That point should not be lost to discussion of just guns alone.
I contacted Amazon about removing FedEx from my shipping options. They said it could not BUT they did say they would de-prioritize FedEx to the bottom of the shipper list for me. Thatās good.
They did the same thing after Sandy Hook. They just transferred their sales to Field and Stream. We will see how long it lasts this time.
By all rights the NRA should be listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a white supremacist hate group.
Why? Because the NRA is a fucking white supremacist hate group.
The US Postal Service is the #1 employer of our military veteransā¦keep that in mind as you choose your vendor for shipping packages.
Oswald bought his rifle by mail order. Iām sure he would have appreciated FedExās express overnight delivery.
Wait, do you mean to tell me they stopped selling the things after Sandy Hook and then snuck them back in again after the furor died down?
Edit, and to answer my own question, yeppers. They did.
They just transferred their sales to Field and Stream.
They wonāt be sold there either
If you use Prime and the āfreeā shipping option, youāll almost never see it go through FedEx.
Shit.
