Discussion: Federal Workers’ Union Sues Over Forced Work Without Pay During Shutdown

Gee, yet one more time the Trump mal-administration is being taken to court. Trump is well on his way to setting an all time record for the number of times any US president has been sued.

The right injunction will really shut shit down
Congress will be stuck in Washington when the airlines shut down

I think you are quite correct, but its pretty likely that this record he sets might be so high – so many lawsuits – that it may never be broken. Hopefully we will never again elect as stupid and irresponsible a “president” as Trump.

But it might be fun if Vegas set up a special book on this point.

Under a proposal from Speaker Pelosi, any federal workers who were required to work without pay will be automatically registered to vote in the next election.

There’s no imminent safety threat with airlines if no airplanes are flying. Send the Air Traffic Controllers and TSA home.

That would fix this really fast.

I seem to remember when I was on LMP (the SAP Army project) back in the early 00’s, CSC was demanding everyone work overtime to please the client side project management team. All of us had to be there whether we had anything to contribute or not.

When this rule about unpaid overtime was brought up to contest the worthless effort, we were all told if we didn’t want to work, we could just go find another project that wasn’t LMP to go work on.

So I don’t know just how firm this all is, based on my own experience. Our contracts were through CSC, but their contract was with the DOD/Army.

With the recent news of Michael Cohen testifying voluntary before Chairman Cummings committee in early February, now I’m beginning to wonder:

1). Will McConnell allow Trump to keep federal government shutdown?

  1. Does Trump think that shutting down federal government will CHOKE or KILL the Russia investigations? Could the evil one be that damn shallow? If so, what the fuck are we willingness to do about it? Are we going to allow our system of government and Democracy die? I hope the hell not!!!

I seem to remember a word for “forced work without pay.” Oh yeah, slavery.

It’s ok, think about it. If the Democrats were just going to let our system of government and democracy die, why would they bother calling Cohen up to Congress to testify? The two things don’t make sense together.

I’m wondering if, given the possibility that the government will still be shutdown, Toadglans will begin his State of the Union maunder with “The state of the union is strong”?

Is this what the Lump terms “Making America Great Again?”
Why is he being paid? He’s about as necessary as a concrete wall.

More money drained from the coffers of the Fed. Govt. (i.e. us)

This is exactly what the union should do, and exactly why the Trump administration was working so hard to de-fang what remained of the union.
