Trumpâs case wasnât that strong to begin with, but there is no doubt that his inability to shut his mouth and the inability of supporters like Giuliani (a lawyer who should know better) to do the same likely has damaged their chances very seriously.
Trump sez: âAnd a lot of people agree with us, believe me. . .â
Oh well then, how can any federal judge resist the mighty power of an argument like that?
Trump: If I lose this case, I wouldnât accept the decision as I did not appoint these judges. All that matters is what Gorsuch thinks. We can ask him during the hearings.
Congress to the rescue ! âŚ
Trumpenfurher doesnât really care much about the executive order he signed, let alone read. Heâs merely trying to rack up a âwinâ and move on even if the SC rules against him. Just watch!
âIf those people ever protested, youâd see a real protest.â
Do you suppose that the crowd size would exceed that of your glorious inauguration?
Iâm not sure SCOTUS even ties on this if it gets there, Kennedy might rule against Trump, as might Roberts. The issue I think really puts it over the top to get their votes is the exemption for religious minorities. That translates to targeting a religious majority.
I searched for this womanâs name but couldnât find it. I wanted to express my sympathies to her both for being put in a position she obviously doesnât want to be in â âYour honor, I donât have that information. Iâm from the civil division if that, if that helps get me off the hook any.â [laughter] â and, of course, for her unfortunate eyebrows.
This will end up in the Supreme Court. My gut feeling is that, despite painfully weak, half-hearted and poorly delivered arguments from TrumpCo.gov, it will end in a 5-3 or, if Gorsuch is there to in time pay the boss, a 5-4 decision. I base my count on Roberts acting as a voice of sanity. The Chief Justice who is âonly there to call balls and strikesâ has already tarnished his legacy to such a degree that heâs now madly buffing whatâs left of it with Wrightâs Silver Cream.
I could be wrong. But it would be a first!
ETA: Damn. I forgot about Kennedy. Never mind about my SCOTUS count. Time to consult www.paddypower.com.
At the SCOTUS âŚ
Heir Limpy bashing judges will not be spoken of ⌠but it doesnât need to be â
Iâm not convinced it would exceed the 10 or so protesters in Portland, Maine, or the 50 or so protesters in front of Trump Tower. Even if you exaggerate by a factor of Trump (200K is 1.5M, etc.) that isnât a whole lot of people.
That really shouldnât come as a surprise to anyone.
U.S. District Judge James Robart in Seattle, who on Friday temporarily blocked Trumpâs order, has said a judgeâs job is to ensure that an action taken by the government âcomports with our countryâs laws.â
So with that said, when are you guys and ladies going to begin the process of removing the proven lying criminals from our white house and congress so we can really become a better America.
Itâs not like there hiding the evidence of breaking numerous laws against the constitution.
No one is in favor of dropping our national defense in exchange for a couple of days of touchy-feely goodness to foreign terrorists.
First, though, weâre talking about current law and order â requiring everyone to abide by our law, including criminals like Donald Trump, the lawbreaker.
Second, weâre talking about a smart defense. God knows the security of our country is poor because of the negligence of Republican Congresses. Look at our still-open ports. Howâs airport security with thousands of protesters at the gates? Russia is picking our President. Foreigners are ho-hum hacking into Democratic and Republican computer systems.
Ban âMuslims?â Thatâs the Republican solution?
Am I supposed to feel safe now, Mr. Ryan, Mr. McConnell?
By âyou guys and ladiesâ you must mean the United States Congress. We The People canât do squat about it until the next election in 2 years, and the US Congress isnât going to go after Him That Got Them There.
I beg to differ. We the People have much more power than just waiting for an election.
Itâs messy, itâs nasty, itâs a lot of work but anyone working for us will listen when they are forced to realize, we really are the boss and theyâre all just temporary employees.
Imagine 300 million people knowing that fact and using it together to make America really great.
Itâs out there, we just have to work for it.
Fake news. The bloated sack of skin doesnât even drive.
Leaving aside that the author of the piece is almost certainly not a lawyer, and does not understand what happens in a hearing, the writer cites only one judge, asking an obvious question. Thereâs no evidence of skepticism in the article.
I appreciate your positivity âŚ
But we are human beings⌠not starlings â
Itâs hard enough to get 5 or even 10 people to agree on a directionâŚlet alone a tactic on how to get there . â
Donât get me wrongâŚI share the idealism and hope that there may be a way for people to someday play nice together âŚbut right NOW⌠the situation is too dire to dream â We need to wake up⌠and realize that cunning and dirty tricks may be called forâŚat least long enough to stem the tide â
