Discussion: Federal Judge Will Decide By Saturday If RNC Violated Consent Decree

"Is the DNC really contending the RNC really has control over Donald Trump? That would be a news flash,” GOP lawyer Bobby Birchfield said.

News flash: Regardless of whether the RNC controls HOTOG, he is still an agent of the RNC. They conceived him, they nurtured him by nominating him at their convention, and now they have to carry him to term.

If all you need to get out from under the decree is to say “Well, gosh, we have no control over anyone not directly employed by us” then the courts are even less effective than the FEC.

Yes. This has to be the first time in our history that the Party of the nominee can actually stand there and claim that the nominee is not an agent of the Party. Any other political actor in our history would be ashamed. But not our Modern Dixie Republican Party. They dont know ashamed.

So Trump is not on every ballot with an R behind his name?
Trump didn’t participate in the Republican primaries?
Trump accepted the Republican nomination to be their candidate for President.
If the RNC wanted to cover their asses then they should have neutered their candidate, stifled their state parties, or they should have dumped him and picked another candidate
As for Stone let’s break some new ground here. How can it be legal for an outside agent to hire observers and train them poorly (in regards to state’s laws) and send them out to harass Americans while voting?

“We have turned over every stone in the last week, through all levels of the Republican parties, to confirm there is no violation here,”, said the fox guarding the hen house.

RNC Says Trump is Republican in Name Only

That’s the newsflash that we should get out of this absurd theatre, if only the US News didn’t abdicate its third estate responsibility long time ago.

Your honor, keep it simple, just place a permanent “cease-and-desist” order on the entire RNC, at both the National and State level.

Easy peasy…

No need for an injunction for RNC----they let Trump become their nominee…

The GOP lawyer’s last name is spelled “Burchfield”. It’s misspelled in paragraph 3, currently.

I don’t get why this hasn’t been emphasized more, in both the coverage and (as far as I can tell) in the case itself. The decree doesn’t just cover the RNC proper but all of its surrogates, and it’s hard to claim the Trump campaign (or, in the other case, the Ohio state GOP committee) isn’t an RNC agent or surrogate.
