I think that itās important to at least pay lip service to the notion that the judiciary isnāt about who appointed each judge. But a background of their decisions would be useful.

Couple things the article missed:
Judge Hudson was a member of a pornography commission trying to rid Virginia of pornography. As a result, he was appointed to Reaganās "Meese Commission to try to do the same thing.
Judge Hudson has said, āI live to put people in jail.ā He meant it. He prosecuted a mentally challenged man for rape and murder even though semen found at the scene did not match the accusedās DNA.
Judge Hudson was involved in Ruby Ridge. He was head of the US Marshall Service under George HW Bush and decided to conduct no investigation of the USMS after Ruby Ridge.
Judge Hudson is the judge that invalidated the āindividual mandateā clause of the ACA (which was later overturned and upheld by SCOTUS).
It seems Judge Hudson doesnāt follow the law so much as do what he wants.
Isnāt that the court that passed down this ruling earlier in the year?
