Discussion: Federal Judge Temporarily Blocks Deportation Of Pizza Worker

I do hope this works out for him and his family.
I read somewhere that local restaurants are no longer delivering to the base. Good on them. I wish I had the link.

I hate to imagine the karma we’re in for … and it will fall on our kids (young adults), who are already struggling under student debt, etc. I hope they all realize that voting is the only way out.

To me these stories are related.

There are women and children involved in both cases. Was this man a bad hombre? Were the women who followed their husbands to Iraq and Syria given a choice? But hey at least Iraq keeps the mothers and their children together.
And why are the Russians seemly only interested in getting the children back?

Not only did this poor man get busted and part of it was because he had no drivers’ license, but the pizza was not paid for by anyone on the base, and yet no one saw it again after the arrest and the dust had settled.

I missed this story the other day. Someone told us about it last night.

Mexico was an unfamiliar place for 19-year-old Manuel Antonio Cano-Pacheco. He was only 3 years old when his parents brought him to the United States — without a visa.

This dehumanizing of immigrants -undocumented or not - is emblematic of a very sick society. We’re in deep trouble as a country because we’ve lost our morals somewhere along the way. Beyond pathetic.

The law usually doesn’t require a specific adjudication, but allows for several possibilities. This Administration has decided gleefully on the most extreme measures.

the judiciary can still serve as a powerful check when other branches of government make hasty, cruel and reckless decisions

The GOP is working on fixing that.

We’ve already collided with karma. Its name is Trump.

But you’re absolutely right that he’s making it worse.
