Discussion: Federal Judge Skeptical Of Kentucky And The Trump Admin's Medicaid Threats

Matthew Kuhn, arguing on behalf of Kentucky, pointed to Bevin’s executive order to terminate the state’s Medicaid expansion entirely, stripping health coverage from more than 400,000 people, if the court strikes down any piece of the waiver.

And the people of Kentucky pointed to the rope they threw over a large oak tree limb on the Capitol grounds and said
“Please Proceed”

Trump administration and Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin (R) warned U.S. District Judge James Boasberg of dire consequences should he rule against their new Medicaid rules

So now the Rs are going to start threatening judges who the fuck elects these idiots?

It’s what the people of Kentucky voted for: moronism

If I’m not mistaken the Kentucky exchange (Kyneck?) was very successful and was a black eye for the non-expansionists. Wrecking this has been a priority for them for a while now.

ABO (anything by Obama) must. be destroyed regardless of the pain it inflicts.

It’s almost like a mental illness.

same thing as in PA where the Rethugs are thinking of impeaching judges who ruled the state should use a fair process to set congressional districts.

Congress and the entire el Drumpf administration should be stripped of their Super Cadillac health plans and mandated to use Medicare/Medicaid and NOTHING ELSE.

It’s gonna take a long time, a lot of votes, a lot of change and a lot of work to put back together all they’re destroying across the country.

Keep Resisting. And keep fighting.

Work requirements were attractive because they would hurt people. Bevin got elected because he was going to hurt those people. That’s what folks voted for. He was going to be “tough”. So let them have what they voted for. It’s the only way this gets fixed. Hopefully Bevin will wipe out healthcare in Kentucky which will hurt everyone, including the folks that voted to hurting others, and that will create pain that cannot be spun away. In time it will be fixed and the likes of Bevin won’t be seen in Kentucky for decades. There is no other way.

Kentucky had one of the best state wide medical insurance exchanges of all 50 states, but the black guy gave it to them. So they elected Tea Party Bevin and this is what they get. Maybe when they’re bankrupt and dying in the streets they’ll at least be happy they stopped trans people from using the women’s room.

The people in Kentucky voted for these idiots and this is what happens. They know this governor planned to rip up Medicaid. And they voted for the prize idiot in our White House.

It sounds as if the state’s lawyers weren’t even phoning it in. Trying to tell a judge that basic rule-making isn’t judicially reviewable because officials have a duty to follow the law?

Mr brother (just across the river in SW Ohio), objecting to AHA, said that “those people” have never had health care insurance. They don’t know what it is. If you give it to them, they will like it, and we’ll be stuck with it!

One step closer to single payer.

“Kuhn claimed that “serious budget problems” mean that “the governor will be forced to withdraw from expanded Medicaid” if he’s not allowed to impose the rules, which are expected to save the state money by kicking at least 95,000 people off of Medicaid.”

This argument is so specious, so deviant, I cannot imagine a judge would find it compelling. Still with Trump, GOP, Bevin, Kentucky, you really can’t put a “waiver” on the depths of stupidity and amorality.

I too have NO problem seeing the people of Kentucky enjoy what they voted for. That’s Democracy, and if you only enjoy it for a shortened lifespan, it ain’t Democracy’s fault!
