Wasn’t this begun completely under the auspices of Republican/conservative officials? Are not Comey, Rosenstein, McCabe* and Mueller themselves life-long Republicans? Perhaps the judge was conflating this case with the harassment, indictments, and firings of tRUmp’s critics.

Um, Judge Crankypants, if you see any partisan prosecutions before you you are free to and have the obligation to adjudicate appropriately. But thanks anyways for the free trip to the appellate court should it be necessary.
I would say that credible evidence of mass corruption and attack by a hostile foreign government is more than a “political disagreement” and should be roundly investigated.

How is this appropriate in any way? The judge is ruling on a matter before his court. Editorializing about the reasonability of the governing statute seems out of bounds to me.

Isn’t this the jurisdiction that Manafort’s legal team refused to move the case out of? Now I think I understand why they watnted to stick with this judge, even though it meant the legal team had to contend with cases in two separate federal courts.
