Discussion: Federal Judge Blocks Part Of Kansas Proof-Of-Citizenship Voting Law

Kobach should be sent to Gitmo.

Outstanding! Now can we throw Kobach in prison for tens of thousands of violations of Americans’ civil rights?

This is good news!

Has anyone checked whether Kris Kobach is actually a citizen? Eligible to vote?

Kinda wondering, given his zealous attempt to limit the vote…

Kobach is a sorry excuse for a human being

The jig is up, Kobach. Your anti-democracy, vote suppressing buddies in WI spilled the beans.

You know… it’s not like Kansas doesn’t have it’s share of natural disasters –

But to think that there are those who would increase the amount by the "man made "
variety … It’s just sickening —

Yay! Now watch those 18,000 residents that were kicked off the voter rolls suddenly have their names get lost and attributed to a computer glitch or error. Its happened before.

And what’s with this?

Under the law, those who tried to register to vote at the DMV but didn’t have the required citizenship documentation were automatically put on a “suspense” list.

Suspense or suspend list? Suspense doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

Him and Arpaio can bunk together.

Finally one federal judge who noticed that there was close to zero voter fraud under the former regime of swearing under penalty of a felony that you were a citizen. This person Kobach has made a crusade of ferreting out voter fraud and has netted one, that’s 1, conviction in the five years or so he’s been at it. One is as close to zero as you can get. He throws off 18,000 people for the voting rolls for one conviction, that there folks is some successful voter suppression.

This Kobach character doesn’t limit his law writing ti just Kansas. He sullied Arizona as well. Look up arizona SB 1020

There is sufficient evidence to conclude that this Kansas voter suppression law is an effort by GOP legislators and officials to declare ineligible those voters who are disproportionately Democratic.

It is unfortunate that the GOP continues its attempts to steal elections from American citizens.

GREAT comment. But I hope President Obama will be able to close Gitmo before he leaves office. But rendition. Ahhhhh…one can dream can’t he?

You know, it really would be difficult to identify the most loathsome, despicable, disgusting elected Republican in the country. This monster? Arpaio? LaPage? Brownback? One thing is for sure, the top 50 will ALL be Republicans. Maybe top 500! This b-stard gets my vote. Stealing one’s voting rights is straight out of Jim Crow. We got past that more than 50 years ago. Rot in hell Kobach.

Given that Kobach finds voter fraud of such great concern, enough to merit keeping tens of thousands of people from registering, shouldn’t we assume that most elected officials in Kansas won due to fraudulent voting?

To me the horror that is Kobach and the rest of the Republicans running these legalized voter id scams, is nobody seems shocked or offended that a political party would systematically engage in denying the vote to Americans.

We are only a step away from becoming a 2nd world country run by criminals and oligarchs. Kobach and his party are deeply offensive.

“Suspense” is a regular business expression. It just means - held in abeyance.

Add that that ONE person was also registered as a REPUG.

We’re going to have to keep watching this, because I’m pretty sure that Kobach is going to a) appeal and ask for a stay, then b) blow right through the deadline and keep making up excuses until november. But yeah, 18,000 counts of conspiracy to violate civil rights under color of law. I’d love to see him doing a perp walk.
