Clearly she is unable to perform this job due to her religious beliefs, so the obvious solution is to replace her. I’m sure she can find a job that better suits her.

It’s no different than taking a job that requires Sunday hours, but you can’t work on Sundays due to religious beliefs. Go find a job that gives you Sundays off and everyone’s happy.

Well, the plaintiffs mayn’t have asked for jail time, but that doesn’t mean that Judge Bunning can’t give her some anyway.

“At the end of the day, we have to stand before God, which has higher authority than the Supreme Court,” said Randy Smith, leading the group supporting Davis.

R.J. Rushdoony was right. “Christianity and democracy are inevitably enemies.”

“Then you’re going to have a long day,” Davis told him, and then retreated into her inner office.

That’s very Christ-like of you. But their day isn’t going to be nearly as long as the one(s) you’re about to encounter.

Can’t the employees be fired for refusing, or does the clerk have to issue them all herself?

He pointed to the gay rights protesters gathered on the courthouse lawn and said: “They want us to accept their beliefs and their ways. But they won’t accept our beliefs and our ways.”

Hey, Einstein, you are in a heterosexual marriage. No one is trying to take that away from you. The couple to whom your mieskeit wife denied a marriage license has just a much a legal right to marry as you did. So don’t tell me about who is accepting beliefs, and who is not.

So she cited “God’s authority” for not following the courts decision. So then why bother taking this to the supreme court at all in the first place then? Well that’s because for christians like this and her legal team and supporters, the legal system is just a tool to us to force others to do as they say. Had the decision gone her way, she would have waved that ruling in everyones face demanding they follow it. But for many US. christians… some animals are more equal than others.

If Jesus had gotten a glimpse of her cheeks, I doubt he would have ever suggested that course of action.

Shouldn’t that say: The clerk’s (fourth) husband, Joe Davis

“Current husband” would be good, too.

Is cunt too harsh a word to use here to describe this nasty, bigoted, soon to be fined-up-the-wazoo civil servant? I think it fits very well. Your comments are appreciated!
